Not necessarily.

The stock headers are fairly good. When changing to aftermarket headers you risk taking power away in some parts of the power band so they feel like they have added power up top when all they have done is take power away down low / mid range much like fitting aftermarket trumpets.

Really you need to replace headers / cams / trumpets together to get the right combination.
