I've been doing a bit of shopping around for gauges for oil pressure + temp and water. At the local auto shop I can get some "Auto Gauge" brand gauges for about 1/2 the price I can get GREDDY or D1 gauges for on the net. So my question is would there be a lack of accuracy or quality of readings if I were to get the cheaper "Auto Gauge" gauges over getting the more recognised brands such as D1 or GREDDY. If anyone has had experience with the "Auto Gauge" brand and would like to share that'd be great!

Autogauge is I think from memory Mechanical or Electrical, don't require a control unit and made in Taiwan. Hence why its about I think last time I looked about 2/3 of the price? I have helped a friend install his set before, don't remember if the parts were any good or not. They're like any cheap local alternative I suppose... |

Cheers Dread. Haha, yeahh I've figured that much out. They seem easy enough to install (managed to source a manual for all "Auto Gauge" gauges). More concerned over the accuracy of the readings compared to the more recognised brands. Other than I'm loving the look of the D1 black dial gauges!

Well the ones without stepping motor are **** so don't touch those. With stepping motors they're 'ok' but you'll have reliablity issues, just google Autogauge... From meh/average to omfg it died... Like you said, get what you pay for

unless you're going to be visiting the track on a regular basis, cheapies should be more than adequate for street duty |

So decided to go for D1 black dials. Paying a bit more (almost 2x the price, lol..) over the cheapies, may as well get them to last I figured. Plus they look ACE! Cheers guys! ![]() |
