Was stripping the interior from my donor BZ-R to put into my XZ and came across this under the drivers seat of my XZ...![]() ![]() ![]() I initially thought the smaller plug I'm holding was a seatbelt light that shows on the dash as it plugged into a small plug that is attached to the bottom of the seat, then I realised there is no seatbelt light on the dash.. lol. The box was just sitting there with the smaller plug plugged into the seat. They don't seem to be attached at all and look like two completely different items.. Ideas? |

Yeahh harty! I should have checked if it was a Toyota item.. Reading from somewhere, all I came across was it could possibly be the factory option of amp, ain't look like no amp.. |

Haha cheers 9.10 that explains! ![]() About the smaller plug, still unsure.. Oh and sorry 9.10 I've packed up all spare parts and put it all away till next weekend lol. I will take a photo then for you. ![]() But what I can tell you that there was a plug in the centre of underneath the drivers chair that it plugged into (1996 model), but when I placed the interior from my donor BZ-R into my XZ, there was no connection under the seat for the plug from the donor.. Beats me, lol.. ![]() As you can see is a 4-pin connection. |

Well the plug + locking box thing was from my 96 XZ.. Where as my BZ-R doesn't have it and you'rs does. Must be some factory option maybe? Who knows, lol. Next weekend I'll have a better look at it, try get to where the connection leads to within the seat.

the small wire that plugs into the seat then runs to the seat belt buckle. Is there a part number on the big box? |

I'm pretty sure the smaller plug isn't anything to do with the seat belt as I have no seat belt light that shows on the dash. Will have a deeper look over the weekend to see where it goes. Will also check the part number of the box while I'm at it.

Lol I know it connects to the seat belt stalk. Have had the seat rails off many times to swap stalks around. This is a drivers side AE111 seat belt stalk showing the wire and plug which connects to the plug coming through the carpet. ![]() |

I don't have that in my bzr could that be why my remote central locking doesn't work? |

Well the only other thing I can think of is the receiver near the mirror is dead. |

I'm 99.99% sure that box has nothing to do with the factory remote locking system. The receiver for that is by the mirror and would be a real random place for mr Toyota to place it under the seat. We really need someone to post up the part numbers off it! Edited by 1i1, Sep 15 2011, 07:43 AM.

Same box is found in starlets and supras. Both forums decided that it was central / remote locking related

Hold on I'll get them part #'s tomorrow! Putting all the second grade parts back in the donor then driving to the garage to start stripping the motor etc! ![]() Still don't understand why my drivers side seat belt stalk needs electrical flow when I have no seat belt light on the dash or anything else relating to the drivers seat belt..

that's a "dealer option" remote locking module not a factory option. if you open it you'll see two antennas wound on cylindrical shaped plastic. trace the wiring to check if it goes to the central locking module by the drivers kick panel. |

Hmm funny that. Was this photo taken from you'r first or present Levin? Mine is a 96' where you'r present one is a 95'? Judging from the interior.
