Hi all, Here is a photo report of how my brother & i managed to get the 75mm trumpets to fit nicely into the plenum. Photo 1 will show that we have modified the backside of the box so the left side can accomodate the trumpet. ![]() Then we drilled new mounting holes for the trumpets i bought here in Holland ( www.montronic.nl ) So they can be mounted easily on the backplate of the airbox. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And we used the original fittings to bolt the backplate onto the throttle body ![]() ![]() Now the downside for all right hand drivers...... it wont fit on right handed cars, your brake booster is blocking the airbox. So finally there is a benifit of having a left steered car

Nice work guys... But I think I can see some issues... - Are your trumpets just bell mouthed or are the edges completely rolled? If they're not rolled, air will be deflected rather then directed into the ITBs - The last photo show that ~50% of the airflow will hit your trumpet body rather than being digested by the trumpets. If you're able to shift the inlet mouth towards the top edge of the box, it would probably be better, I suspect the TB on the other end will be starved like this... |

I have 50mm trumpets on right now and I was considering cutting the edge to fit it in the box but I can get the box modified for all 4 to fit comfortably. This is only done so that I can use 1 filter outside the box. Track days I run with just a mesh over the Trumpets. |

They fit but they won't be doing any favours to the performance as they are too long to fit in the box. Like has been said already the airflow is being directed at the side of the trumpet not the mouth. 50mm would be better. |

We are planning for a 2.0 version where the air inlet will move to the top of the trumpets. For now i have at least an enclosed air channel and i have the nice trumpet sound that is also louder & nicer than running them without a plenum :-) |

In my opinion you may be best off taking the trumpets off and cutting say 15mm out of the middle and tig welding them back together. How does it drive and sound at the moment? |

50mm definately better. My but dyno feels this way and after the guys on wheelsjamaica dit it and got results I would recomend 50mm trumpets to everyone. |

It sounds very nice! It makes a nice grunty sound when i put the pedal down in low rev's. From mid to high ( 4000 to 7500 ) its getting more raspy. And it screams at the last bit from 7500 to the limmiter ![]() Power wise, it seems to run much smoother from 3 to 5000 rpm. But not very much extra in HP, I have combined it with a new CAI setup, putting the filter between the front bumper and the wheel arch. That gave a noticable boost in torque and smoothness in the midrange. I will post some pics of my setup in a day or so. |

With my 50mm I got the box to fit last night without modification. The car is alot smoother all the way up to redline. I dont remember how it sounded stok but it is definately quieter than running them open. |

Video will be posted later tonight. Just got to find my co-driver and give him the camera. I would try to get 0-160 km/h to show the smoothness of the acceleration. |

this might be a silly question but why did you have to tilt and remount your trumpets and make them fit? how does that help clearence? |

Hi all, I made a little video so you can hear the symphony that comes from under the hood.
Hi Sam, we had to remount the trumpets because the diameter of the bolt to mount the trumpets is way smaller then the ones that go into the throthlebody. You can clearly see that on pictures. And we didnt want to drill out the trumpets because the mounthole could become very weak. So this was the easyiest and cleanest solution. Oh and it didnt do anything to the clearance

ah I see, so what where those originally made to suit? looks like a silvertop flange but with a 6mm hole mount instead of 8mm |

I got the trumpets from a dutch company called Montronic Racing Parts http://www.montronic.nl/#10 They have a wide selection of really top quality trumpets. And i got the ones that matched the inlet diameter of the BT throtleboddy. The price is superb, and beats the price of the toytechtuning trumpet by almost 80 euro's. |

I had a look, they seem to be a decent product. Also I hear the T3 ones are just silvertop trumpets with a different flange but still with the 48mm inside diameter... I havn't compared my prices |
