So the other day I thought something didn't feel right and today my missus confirmed it. Reverse is extremely stiff to get into and 1st and 2nd are a little easier but still stiffer then normal. 4th, 5th and 6th feel fine. Any idea's where to start looking? I was thinking Engine/Gearbox mount maybe? I've heard when they go it can do funny thing to the way everything runs. |

Oil was done about a year ago. Haven't had a chance to check if it happens when the car is on been flat out at work. |

Still stiff when the car is off. Extremely stiff. Makes it interesting when I can't get it into reverse to back it out the driveway. |

I have ruled out the shifter. Left hand cable is very hard to push in which is where its ment to go for 1st, 2nd and reverse. Spose I'll have to find the other end of it and have a look. Edited by frax, Nov 18 2011, 07:31 AM.

do you think it just something that needs a bit of lube? or is it something is worn or on the way out |

Tbh it wouldn't surprise me if its an engine mount gone that's put something out of alignment. |

Had this very issue with my ATR. Unfortunately it was a slightly bent selector fork inside the gear box. How does the clutch feel? Hope it's a simple fix for you |

Hard to change when stationary and off. Drove it to my workshop yesterday no crunches it clangs and bangs just hard to shift. Going out there today to have a look over the mounts. How many are there in a 6speed? |

Anybody have a picture of where to find the shifter cable in the engine bay will have a look at them in the morning. |

Problem fixed. For some reason a bigger charcol canister had been fitted for compliance and it doesn't fit the standard bracket. Eventually made its way south and jammed behind a shift linkage. |
