right guys after some major advice pictures to follow, basically car has been feeling a bit sluggish around 3000rpm lately, and today just cut out and wouldnt start so pushed it to side of the road and the distributor cap had snapped all its plastic lugs and completely come off and also popped an ignition lead out the cap, i also noticed that inside the ccap there is a big orangey red plastic disc with a strip of metal in it which is all snapped up aswell!! do you guys have any idea what would cause this and why? also are distributor caps easily and a fair price??/ many thanks gav |

I would make a wild guess and say that it was old and it just gave up. |

How many KM does your car have on? As lkenty said I would just put it down to age. As per a replacement then I would say Toyota would be your first port of call. I think the cap on it's own is around £60 GBP. Where about's are you based in the world? |
