Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone else here has found it hard to down gear into second gear from say 65km/h in third to 2nd. I understand that sometimes it may be too fast for 2nd gear and I try to change down, but I thought that it should still allow me to get into second (without releasing the clutch yet). example: My old civic used to allow me to down gear to second at 100km/h on the free, note I would NEVER release the clutch to engage. I have noticed that I can get into second gear at around 65km/h if I goto change gear and without forcing in, just hold and the gear slips in fine after about 2 second delay. To me it's as if something is blocking the 2nd gear. I have tried changing gear oils with no effect, also eveyr other gear is fine and I can shift at redline 1st to 2nd without any issue. Does anyone know if the ecu cause blocking or gears? I read somewhereo nce that it delays engagement of gears to protect the gearbox. anyway... just thought id check if anyone has any idea or opinions. ![]() |

That's weird.. maybe your clutch plate is not strong enough as it used to be. I don't think that it is related with the gearbox. I had similar problem with my 6 speed gearbox when I have replaced the OEM clutch set with an aftermarket. Double clutching helped though

Which aftermarket clutch did you go with? I mite try changing sooin ![]() So far my stock clutch has only started to slip after an intense motorkhana day. But even then it was only minor and it went away when the car cooled down
