It 100% Will be a wiring problem, there are two ways to wire in the RSM, one disables the speedo cut and one does not, check the wiring diagram/s on the Apexi site. |

i have it wired with the one with the loop in it to bypass the speed cut. i had it up at auto tune which is a remap etc shop and they said its wired right for it to bypass it but they said the only thing i could to do is solder it in and see if that will make it work other than that they said its 100% Edited by james1992, May 24 2012, 09:24 PM.

Silly question here - but was the speed limit set off on the RSM? Can't remember exactly how it's worded on the unit. But if you currently have it set as "OFF" try "ON" and see if that works. |

the speed cut is set to off and to set it on you pick a speed between 1-300km also the speed watch is off its soo annoying as i cant pull in 5th gear with out hitting the speed limit wall. could it be the connections needing soldered rather than just connected with connector crimps? |

Shouldn't be. It's got to be either the way its hooked up or a setting |

As 1i1 said it will not be because of the connections! Mine are crimped in not soldered and it works fine. It will be a simple setting, do you have the owners manual? P.S I wouldn't keep trying to do top speed runs by the way, sure fire way to screw something up big style! |

yea i have the manual and i haven went over very thing loads of times. it has to be the speed by pass wire as all the reads are perfect and every other setting works bar the speed cut and its the only way i know of how to actually test it is to take it up to where the limit is to see if it cuts in. |

Maybe its your ECU? Do you run it with a M/T ECU or a A/T ECU? |

M/T ecu is there any other factory items that may restrict it from passing the speed cut. |

@ james this is a public forum be very carefull stating speeds in which you have or havnt done!! As the lads said this will be a loose wire or faulty connection somewhere or maybe it might be a dodgey unit? |

all speeds have been tested on a rolling road as there is speed cameras everywhere. but the unit has all the wires and the other functions work on the unit going to take it out a rewire once there is spaces available again. |

Are you sure of the following : 1. You wired it using diagram no : T5-a ? 2. You used option 2 (when cutting speed limiter) ? You could have the pink and purple wires mixed up as in you may have it so the Pink wire is the input and purple is the out put this could also cause the car not to be delimited. Is it a genuine Apexi RSM ? new or used? Hope this helps. |

i used the t6 diagram i think but not 100% the one that has the same number of pins and spaces as the ecu and wired it in with the loop in it to bypass the limit as it says. and it was taken from another levin and is a genuine apexi rsm everything else works on it perfectly all the reads are right will have a look at the wires and what ecu diagram i used again |

going check it this week, only difference between my wiring and that diagram is i have wired the rev wire in to the crank terminal in the ecu to give the read for the revs. i think in that diagram above the rev wire is going in to the igniter? |

Check wiring diagram over and over again and it turns out its wired right so i think there might be a fault in the rsm so goin consider purchasing the HKS speed defence limiter would any body have any info on it like is it any use, how hard is it to wire etc |

If you simply want to de-limit the car then you don't need to buy anything like that. I de-limited mine with a cheapy thing from e-bay which cost about £5! Search on Ebay mate. |
