Should these diffs be loud as in making clunking noises on making tight left and right turns. |

Yeah they will make noises - the nature of plate type diffs. Just make sure you run the right oil for it. Though have driven and been passenger in a mate RunX which has a TRD mechanical diff and that seemed really nice, didn't seem to make much racket at all. |

You don't have to tell me. I thought my cv joints were gone. |

i have a helical lsd in mine, almost exactly the same as the trd helical. ive been having the exact same worry thinking my cvs are on their way out, but in saying that my cvs are from a low ks vehicle.. sounds to be pritty normal, but boy under WOT the lsd is so agressive. im also using reline MT-90 (i think thats what its called). thats all you need if your running a mecanical lsd ie. helical, cone type etc. if your running a trd plate type like in the hilux's you need to run the specalized lsd gear oil. I am going to try a friction additive to mine and see how it goes. It's ment to cut down on the harsh noise. |

Goin to try that friction modifier first if the noise is still loud goin to look at the cv. I know the diffs are noisy but the sound it makes on lock is severe. The discs inside the diff might be worn abit because on slowing down it makes a squealing noise. |
