Driveshafts interchangeability?

Hi all,
I have some troubles with my driveshafts, there quite a bit of "wiggleroom" in them, and it produces shocks in de driveline when i release throttle, and when i put my foot on the throttle suddenly.

So i am looking to get a set of 2nd hand shafts.

The following facts ( please correct me if im wrong) i have found already on the web & this forum:
- the shafts that come with the gearbox -types: C160 / C56 / C52 should fit on my gearbox(C162).
- The shafts mentioned above were all paired with a 4afe/4age engine.
- There are 2 types of shafts: one with an ABS ring, and the other hasnt got the ABS ring.

Now i am left with the following questions:
- Can i transfer my current ABS rings onto a set of standard shafts?
- Are the shafts from corollas that were fitted with the 3ZZ-FE engine also compatible?
- Can i use shafts that were fitted with an automatic transmission?
- Are there any other toyota models that came with the same type of drive-shafts?

I hope someone can shed some light on this matter.

Thanks in advance!
Guido

One thing to look out is (c56/c160 blaacktop) drivers side shaft will be a two piece shaft with a hanger bearing.

Most c50, c52 / 4afe shafts will be single piece with no hanger bearing.

There is a company here in Ireland called Japanese performance they will help you out with drive shafts. The levin and trueno are been broke all over the place here so there not that expensive. I got one a few months ago for €50. These company does worldwide shipping.

auto and manual blacktop shafts are the same, but the bracket that bolts to the back of the engine block are different.

Well i finally managed to get hold of a proper set of shafts here in Holland.

They will arrive on my doorstep, and costing me just 80 euros for the pair :-)
