Hi all, Took the Levin out for a spin today to keep her ticking over, The seller had told me about a short grind when changing down from 5th - 4th gear but I never noticed until today because the last time I drove it the heater control wouldn't switch off and I couldn't hear anything. But today the heater was off and when changing down from 5th - 4th there's a short grind, What could this be? And hard to fix? Hopefully not a walk away issue

Thanks its a 6 speed, No hassle shifting up through the gears great power But just shifting down from 5th-4th there's a short grind, I've put the post on TOC aswell The guys are saying change the fluid and check the front engine mount so I'm gonna try those two aswell shi can do no harm to change fluid anyway. |

If it comes and gos it can be down to particles in the oil definately worth changing I've seen gear oil with extra lucas additive to drastically improve a friends gear box that was grinding 1St to 2nd and 3rd to 4th ultimately by the time it starts grinding the damage is done but it can make it easier to live with until it is replaced /repaired |

My Corolla had this same problem when I brought it. New synchro ring and it was sorted. Expensive part would be paying someone to pull the box and and replace it. |
