Hi all, Started off today diagnosing the source of an oil leak that only happened when the engine was running, Found it to be the gasket on the flange where the oil filter section joins on to the main engine block. No problem there. I then purchased an aerosol can of engine cleaner to remove the leaked oil, I sprayed it under the exhaust manifold and around the oil sump to remove the mess, I also sprayed it on top of the gearbox, The instructions on the can, said to spray on and rinse off with plenty of water, Being a degreasing agent I was cautious of getting it well rinsed off as it would be quite acidic, So I rinsed it with 12-14 10ltr watering cans I took care no to wet the top of the engine or ignition cables, I poured the water on top of the gear box and mostly around the exhaust manifold and surrounding area between the radiator and engine. Now for the problem, The engine is hesitant to start, When it does start, it idles at 900rpm just below 1,000rpm It vibrates a bit and after a while goes lower rev Followed by calving. I've checked for diagnostic errors and I'm getting code: 31 On the list code 31 is: AFS (when fitted) Open-Circuit in VC,VS,VB, or short circuit in VC MAP (when fitted) Open-Circuit in map or short circuit in VC Any help in getting it back to normal would be great guys, I got too brave with cleaning today, I've tried disconnecting the battery to clear errors and start again but made no difference still hesitant starting.
