I want to buy a diagnostic system for the ae111. Something I can check fault codes plus ideally see some basic performance/sensor information. I was hoping to buy a Toyota 16 pin link the OBD2 link and then a CD rom for the 20v engine. Maybe I could download a programme for my laptop? Otherwise it's buy a cheap scanner suitable for the ae111. I'm new to this but keen to learn, any options /opinions? Jimmy |

No scanners as such so people normally count the flash codes by bridging TE1 to E1 on the diagnostic port. There's a how too guide on here give a search for it and it'll have all the info you need. |

We have a Toyota obd1 scanner at work (Toyota) but good luck finding one out of a dealership. The tech is just too old and all of the signals are analogue which makes it that much more harder. Where as obd2 have mostly digital sensor signals. |

All clear now. Would be nice to have a scanner but hard to find a Toyota one that old! I wonder of anyone has produced some software that would allow real time data for the Levin though; that would be great to have. |

Youll need to search for a generic obd1 scanner. But as I say a module will have to be created to convert the analogue signals to a digital waveform so it can be read on the computer. In turn can potentially be rather expensive. |
