Hi Kurt, Welcome to the forums! First up, what part of NZ are you from, and feel free to post up some pictures of your car to get people acquainted with it. As to your question, take a look at the suspension in the front of the car. If the strut is straight the whole way down then it's not super strut. If the strut has a hook on the end of it (looks a bit like a dough hook if you've ever been a baker/worked at Pizza Hut) then it's superstrut. The base of the hook thing will have a little 'figure-8' piece connected to it. Check out the green Tein coilovers in this link for what the strut looks like: http://s15.zetaboards.com/AE111_Forum/topic/7370116/1/#newhttp://s15.zetaboards.com/AE111_Forum/topic/7370116/1/#new And if you look at the undercar suspension image in this link you'll see what a factory superstrut setup looks like. Note the little 'figure-8' link connected to the bottom of the strut. That's how yours will look if it is superstrut. http://s15.zetaboards.com/AE111_Forum/topic/7397106/1/#newhttp://s15.zetaboards.com/AE111_Forum/topic/7397106/1/#new Let us know if that's not clear. Again, welcome along. |

Sweet as. Mac Strut cars seem to give less problems, for sure. I've really enjoyed the handling of my superstrut Levin, but I didn't enjoy having to replace the superstrut just after I bought it! I'm from Auckland too, over on the Shore. I've always uploaded photos to photobucket (or imageshack or similar) and then linked them through using the image link command, that way they post inline in your post. |

Car looks nice and tidy, mate. No shots of the front of the car though - looks like you've got a factory front end without the optional factory lip. Just wondering if it's a Trueno or Levin front end on the car. Presume Trueno since the rest of the car is? If that photo is of the front suspension, then it's definitely mac strut, in which case you won't have to replace flogged-out superstrut links and should you ever wish to go coilovers, your options are more numerous. |

cheers mate. I try to ignore the front end as I can't stand it ahaha. As far as I know it is a trueno front end. That is the front suspension in the photos and that is good to know, thanks! |

The front lip does make them look good, for sure! It's finding one that's the hard part. I don't have a PFL trueno lip in my parts collection at all. As to the look of them, take a look at James' car for one of the nicest PFL Truenos you'll see, and check out a few of the other guys on here for ideas of facelift conversions or aftermarket front kits. |

James is right, I do have a FL Levin bumper, but not any lights to go with it just now. The lights require some different wiring as well to make the FL lights work. Again, I'm pretty sure that info is on here somewhere. Also have a PFL Levin lip, if you fancy the look of the PFL Levins and found a front bumper from one of them. I reckon you should have a quick look at the different options and figure out which one you like best, then try and track one down. |

I have a PLF Levin bumper that you can have for cheap. Even has the holes already drilled for Ales's frontlip ![]() One of the side mounts has broken off (could be plastic welded back on) and would need a decent sand down and respray. But maybe would be cheaper to find one in Akl since shipping would be a bit. |

Hey Kurt, Photos of the facelift bumper that I have are here: http://s1201.photobucket.com/user/ales_000/library/2013-01-07%20-%20Silver%20FL%20Bumper You can see that there's a little damage on one spot on the bumper, but nothing too serious. As I noted earlier, using this bumper would typically mean that you'd need to change to facelift lights, of which I don't have a set spare at the moment. Anyway let me know if you're interested beyond that. Andy |

hey matte thanks for that but it's not what I'm looking for (plus that plastic welding you mentioned before sounds well out of my expertise haha) but I noticed you got your car resprayed, mind if I ask how much it set you back. I'm thinking of getting mine done in the future. And thanks again andy, appreciate the help. |

What bumper are you after then? You have turned down pretty much all of the factory ones except for the F/L trueno one, which is similar to the one Andy has. There's a couple aftermarket ones that I know of for sale, but I personally think the factory ones with a front lip are far better. I worked at the car painters for awhile when I got my car painted, so I did most of it myself and only paid for materials, which was $700 |

Hey Kurt, Speedfactory make copies of a number of kits, you can check them out here: http://www.speedfactory.co.nz/site/bodykits/toyota/levin.php I believe that there is also a thread on these forums that covers available bodykit options from different manufacturers. Maybe worth a look to figure out what make/style/model of front bar you're after. http://s15.zetaboards.com/AE111_Forum/topic/131012/1/#new There ya go Edited by ales_000, Dec 23 2014, 02:08 AM.
