Hey guys, new to the AE111 scene, and just picked up my (first ever Japanese car) 99 AE111 Trueno BZR. So far I'm hugely impressed. Previous cars have been Ph1 RenaultSport Clio 172s I'm after a bit of advice on an issue with the wipers. I tried searching and can't find any mention on forums. My wipers park/rest at the top of the screen. Other than that they function perfectly well. I've literally had the car only a couple of days and haven't had a chance to investigate further, but I was wondering whether anyone could share some advice. I've also picked up a set of 16" Advans, and ordering some fresh rubber this week, i'll be sure to get some pictures up when I get a chance. |

Hey mate, Welcome along! Can't say that I have any clue why your wipers would be stuck at the top of the screen - very odd! Perhaps a wiring pair reversed so it thinks that's the bottom? Regarding Ph1 Clio 172's - they are a blast of a car to drive, no? I've driven a couple and each time it made me grin at just how amazingly silly and manic they are ![]() Enjoy the AE111, look forward to seeing some photos. |

Thanks for the welcome guys, I'll have some pics up as soon as I giver her a bit of a clean. With regard to the wiper issue, I might end up just replacing the wiper motor, we'll see. Those 172s are a blast, but being French, they are money pits. But more torque from the F4R than the 4AGE due to it being a 2ltr, but I'm really enjoying the high revs and short ratios. I'll be aiming to do a trackday at some point this year, so that will be a good direct comparison. |

what it is. is the wiper or linkage arms were replaced. but the guy didnt return the wiper linkage to the correct position when finished. as the motor is splined it can be replaced at any position. so if put in the wrong position you get what you have. lol. pop the motor out take the linkage off and reset it . |

ah that makes sense, I noticed the motor was a little loose, so I'd say it has been replaced. I'll try that fix when I have a moment. I fitted the new wheels this week, and I think they suit the car very well, especially the gold against silver. I was really after a set of 15" wheels, but the 16" look well. Needs a good clean, and I need to look into getting rid of that massive jap can, and opt for something much slimmer. New rubber should arrive by next week. ![]() Also, a previous owner managed to partially strip three threads of the rear o/s hub studs/bolts so I stopped by Toyota today and picked up 3 new hub studs/bolts. After much investigation I managed to find the part no: 90942-02049 Said Bolts/Studs ![]() |
