Remote central locking

Hey everyone.

I'm trying to figure out why the remote part of the remote central locking is not working on my mothers car. She has a 1999 Corolla Hatch AE111 (?). She said it just stopped working one day. We've replaced the battery in the remote and had no luck.

Is there a fuse somewhere? Where is the unit for the remote receiver? Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Ill try get a scan of the toyota procedure to reconnect the remote

If the corolla has a security light, ie. immobilizer system then this procedure will work. otherwise let me know and i will find the key fob procedure.

Thanks so much! I haven't seen any security lights or immobilizers on the car. A key fob procedure would be much appreciated mate. Cheers

I found a key fob relearn instruction page and it worked perfectly! Link

Now, my next question :) Her and I both noticed that the passenger door locks don't unlock, via remote/key/button. They move a little but but not enough to unlock. Any ideas?

Thanks again!

oh great, sorry ive been really busy lately.

try giving the door a bump whilst trying to unlock the door with the remote. the actuator could be a bit seized up or else it will need replacing.
