thought I will introduce my self.names Vincent from new Zealand.currently building up another 4age corolla ae111 .but this my first front wheel drive build have done a few ae70/ke70s kp60 starlets aa63 carina poss a few most I've forgotten. Now this bug eye corolla which was lent down to me from my nana .I got bored of the 4afe auto and decided to pull it out .I've already got a 4age 20v blacktop with a c56 LSD mated up ready to drop as soon as I've finished with the top gearbox mounts just having some confusion with the wiring as this is nz assembled I've noticed the body wiring loom is different colour coded compared to the Jap spec I have my dash loom connectors sorted on the ecu side of things. Does anyone know where I can find a cheat list for body loom pinouts for a ae111 corolla 4afe to 4age bt???? |

Welcome along Vincent. Whereabouts in NZ are you? In terms of your query about the loom pinouts, your best bet might be AE111_JAMES on here. He seems to know most of what there is to know about the electrics on AE111's, and did a 4AFE to 4AGE swap on his AE111 (admittedly both JDM cars). |

If you search for Corolla G6R you'll see a bunch of the UK 3 door bug-eye corollas that came out with a 4AFE and 6 speed box. There's a scene modifying them in the UK, so you should get some ideas from there. A few guys have done engine swaps as well, so there is at least one knocking around with a Blacktop in it. I also noted that there is a guy on youtube who has a video of swapping a blacktop into a G6R. I didn't watch it or note if he had the whole process, but perhaps a UKDM G6R bugeye might be similar to an NZDM bugeye? Both are 4AFE, both in english-speaking countries etc. The other (though fairly out there) inspiration I'd suggest you search, if you haven't already seen it, is the Walmsley Corolla. Not all that special to look at, but it's a 5-door bug-eye BTCC car that never ran in the BTCC series due to a rule change. It runs a Rouse sport head on a 3SGE bottom end. The head is reversed so that the intake is at the front, exhaust at the rear to provide maximum cold air intake. It's very, very quick. When he had it out at NZFMR 2014 he cleaned up in the heritage touring cars, beat the ex-Perkins Commodore and everything else going. Anyway, endrant. |

Whats the deal with your gearbox mount? You should be able to use one off a NZ new manual AE111/2 with your C56 |

No worries at all! It's a pretty extreme example of what a bug-eye AE111 can be, but some of the G6R's are pretty nice and a bit less out there. |

have a look at this one and see how it compares to yours. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fmer844kenu6zo2/PFL%20AE111%20Dash%20loom%20plug%20pinouts.xlsx?dl=0 My blacktop loom was from a facelift model so it had four dash loom plugs rather than three. Easy fix as the 4th plug only had about three or so wires in it and turns out they just mated into one of the old 4afe dash loom plugs. So cut off the blue 4afe dash loom plug and swapped that in for the different shaped blue plug on the blacktop loom and joined in the three wires from the 4th plug into it as well. Hope that makes sense lol. |
