Cheers pal, its for a road car, when i got the car 2yrs ago she was thirsty on oil so its been sitting up since. Last year i bought a replacement blacktop for it with the intention of rebuilding the original blacktop motor into something you wouldn't see here in ireland... that won't be too soon though so still have time to research it. I thought while i was here now i may aswell say hello

Hey mate, Welcome along. It is pretty quiet here these days, like a lot of forums. There is a bit of information on the 7age/9age conversion, probably more on the 7age than 9age. I believe the main pros to carrying out the 7age/9age conversion would be extra torque compared to the 4age, which is where it is weakest, it's a relatively easy swap since much of the engine is the same. Can't say that I can imagine that many downsides to such a conversion, other than the cost of carrying it out and the fact that there might be other ways of making the same power/different conversions that might be better in the long run. |
