The book looks good, but I don't think it justifies spending of my limited resources. Happy reading, though.

I loved the irony of HT having a PoV character make the same joke over and over and everyone enjoying it the first time but getting increasingly sick of it, and the clueless PoV character assuming it meant there was something wrong with everyone else's sense of humor.

Also, still really confused about some of the geographical features. HT said the border between British and French posessions was a river flowing west to east, but I can't think of any major rivers like that north of the Potomac, which would mean the British start out with half the continent. If they'd just made Atlantis different from North America east of the Appalaichans on the map I could accept a lot of this more easily.

In the previous short stories, HT noted that there are active volcanoes in the Bay (Gulf) of Mexico. So I'm not sure looking for one-to-one geographical points is the way to go.

Does anybody think that Terranova and Atlantis lie on separate tectonic plates? That could pose some interesting geological AH.

Anybody within the series? No, they don't know from tectonic plates. In the readership? That would explain the POD.

Volcanoes in the Gulf have, evidentally, proved quite dangerous to sailors.

Ditching the exact geography of the eastern seaboard would help -- but dammit, they should have indicated that on the map if that's the case.

Oh, Makk, you should know by now not to use the covers of HT's work as a source of useful information.

Hopefully, next volume, the publisher will spend a few bucks and create a map.

In the meantime, I'll make a trip to the library this week.

Also, I did write articles on the stories at the Turtlewiki. If you don't mind a few spoilers, there are some geographical markers available there.

I only surrendered in the alternate world where the French discovered Atlantis in the 1450s.

Which is something of an irony, isn't it?

Actually, I haven't watched all of it. A lot of what I know comes from various clips on YouTube, random episodes on TV, and lots of free-time spent on Wikipedia.
