Or, if the series is dead, revived or given a sequel?

Obviously we're not going to be Gizzis here and say that these series have to continue. We may in fact admit there's little or no chance if we think so.

This is just a chance to say what you'd like to see more of.

For me, Sterling's Nantucket trilogy still interests me and I'd like to see more done there. There are others as well that I may trot out later in the thread.

I may be a glutton for punishment, but I wouldn't mind seeing more of TL-191, br4inging it to the end of the 20th century. :o

I'm going to cheat slightly, as it's not a series in and of itself, but I would love to see a series built around the "Crosstime Traffic" book The Disunited States of America.

I'm behind on my Crosstime Traffic books. Hope I can find some in local libraries and get caught up.

The cover art of the new volume is intriguing: A mock up of the Los Angles Times with a photo of a mushroom cloud in the middle of the city.

I have to agree wholeheartedly. I planning that book as summer reading for my American history students next year. Well done.

Assigning AH as summer reading for high school kids? A man after my own heart.

My Modern European History teacher in high school assigned The Proteus Operation as summer reading until it went out of print. I adored him.

I never had to deal with summer reading in high school.

Well, technically that's not quite accurate - I read for pleasure, but never on assignment during the summer.

Glad to hear it. :)

Yeah, it's been hard to find a more motivating book, and this one can really make them think about the issues involved with creating the nation and what REALLY was at stake. :)

I think HT's Ruled Britannia was incredible, and I often think about it's continuation. Although I realize it'd be kinda hard to continue such an obviously stand-alone novel.

With the way HT writes, even the standalones could be sequelized. Whether a given book should be sequelized is a matter of personal taste.

Truth! If HT were to continue an excellent standalone, like RB, I would humbly suggest he go the path of short stories.

Aye, I could see that. Oh, how I love that book. Three times re-read and plan to do it another three times. It's too bad my twin brother accidentally made it fall from the bookshelf and the impact ripped the broken spine, rendering it virtually cut in half. :(

Of course, if they weren't short stories I could see just a second, shorter, novel detailing the fallout of what happened. Perhaps focusing on Spain and Lope, as Shakespeare doesen't have too much to go from here. Or if HT were to continue a re-invasion or something it could be two or more books.

Alas, I dream.

Not sure Philip III had a reinvasion in him, but I see your point.

Shakespeare might have the chance to write his play about Henry V. That might make a pleasantly twee story--Shakespeare begins writing, and dies before it's finished or something.

While ItPoME wasn't my favorite book (that middle third was just a killer), I am curious where things went with the Reich after the events of the book.
