I was going to say that the premise of this book sounds goofy, but there are certain elements to it that have their own promise. |

I do like the potential mystery of what caused the war, and I hope HT follows that thread. |

I think it's the fact that new and unrecognizable political and social entities have formed up amidst ruins, relics and reminders of the world we're familiar with that attracts me the most. |

My favorite post-apocalyptic novel is A Cantacle for Liebowitz. HT is going to have a hard time matching that. |

I doubt HT is going to bother. Xtime Traffic is more about getting younger readers excited about AH (and by extension, history and politics generally) than about producing brilliant literature. He does sneak in food for thought, and provides enough sophisitication for his adult audience to enjoy them. |

I know it won't match ACfL for sophistication or depth, but you can have brilliantly written children's literature that appeals to adults as well. |

"It was so tragic . . . the way they hopped on Pop . . . " -H Simpson The title of the book keeps making me picture a cheerleading competition gone horribly awry. |

It actually doesn't sound like too bad of a book. It has a halfway original premise for one. However, the fact that it's young adult literature with a somewhat familiar setting(Ilike made-up stuff better) pushes this and other books in the Xtime traffic series towards the bottom of my list of "books I will read at some point" |

You curl your toes in fun as you smile at everyone -- you meet the stares. You're unaware that your doings aren't done. And you laugh most ruthlessly as you tell us what not to be. But how are we supposed to see where we should run? Jethro Tull-Thick as a Brick. | |

I've looked through one of the Crosstime Traffic books. They (or at least the one I looked at) don't seem far different from HT's regular books. |

I've never had much interest in them. I will say that setting them so far in the future, so that the long-term consequences of their PODs and the role of subsequent major intervening events need to be taken into account, is a very good move, possibly the series' greatest strength from what I've seen in Wiki articles. |

The Liebowitz books were awesome . . . I agree that any other Post-Apoc would have a hard time besting them. |
