However, none of the quotes from IatD state the military fighting had occurred from the beginning of the war.

The text states that fighting occurred during the war. I assume that "During" the war, means throughout the whole war, considering he mentions that it changed hands at least seven times, plus they had to rebuild everything only to blow it up again. I'm not an engineer but I know enough about drills that in order to rebuild an oil well, it takes a considerable amount of time and resources, that for it to lost and rebuilt at least several times would have to take the whole duration of the war.

But your scienaro actually makes sense.

I refuse to be drawn into a flame war with you just because you think I'm wrong.

Well in that case you failed HARD.

All I'm saying is that in regards to Sequoyah, DTTE and IATD said TWO compleatly different things.  DTTE said that Sequoyah was in rebellion, while IATD said that the whole area was being fought over from start to finish BY armed forces from both the US and CS.  Actuall soilders, Custer.  By rebellion, that just means the local poppulas.
IATD

"Neither the Texas Panhandle nor western Sequoyah had suffered too badly in the war.  The fighting in Sequoyah was mostly farther east, where the oil wells were.  Where the oil wells had been, rather.  The oil fields had changed hands several times during the war.  Whenever they did, the side pulling out blew them up to deny them to the enemy.  The conquerors would start making repairs and then have to retreat themselves -- and carry ou their own demolitions.  By now, Sequoyah's oil wells were some of the most throughly liberated real estate on the face of the globe."

loling over your epic fail. I've read this part of the book already, earlier tonight. I don't think it discounts my side at all. How do you know that these demolitions weren't carried out by SAS-style raiders with support from Sequoyahtine rebels? How does blowing up a few oil wells necessarily constitute a full-scale fighting front (which isn't mutually exclusive with a rebellion BTW)? "Conquerors" could imply these armed bodies as well as their opponents in the Yankee regular soldiery.

THERE!!!  That dosen't sound like rebellion to me Custer.

No where in DTTE did it say that the Confederate Army had taken the area by force.  So the sudden mention of the area changing hands between the US and CS Armies came as a sudden surprise, Custer.

Nowhere in IATD, at least by what you've quoted, does it say that the Confederate Army had taken the area by force. Try again.

That's all I'm saying.  Stop trying to put words into my mouth.

Stop getting butthurt by every little thing that doesn't agree with what you think or want.

Custer, I have never heard such a supercilious, juvernile responce in my whole life. You're the throwing swear words at me, Custer. I only said I refuse to be drawn into a flame war by stopping to your leavel of responce by mocking my responcese.

No where did I start mocking you, until you started acting like a Popinjay towards my posts, so don't you cry foul because I tell you to calm down.

Dear God, that responce sounds like something my 3 year old nephew could come up with.

Because the text states that when the sides moved out they blew up the oil-wells. It dosen't state that the other side blew them up before the enemy was forced to retreat, that's why.
