Slightly spiffier title than The Battle of Teutoburg Forest.

Ah, looks like another historical fiction on the lines of Justinian II and Fort Pillow.

Took him long enough to get that project going.

The title and cover art both seem campy to me.

Campy cover art for an HT book is nothing new.

Campy title--yeah, I suppose so. I found the original title to be merely pedestrian, though, so I'll take the camp.

Certainly, but this sort of takes it in a new direction.

I never saw anything wrong with the last title. And "Teutoberg!" sure is fun to say.

If I was the publisher, I'd definitely want to make sure that new readers saw this was a novel, not a monograph, and the original title was pretty ambiguous in that respect.

It could have carried the same subtitle--which by the way is terribly unhelpful if someone fails to recognize the origin of the quote.
