I'm looking forward to the Presidential Special. Those are always funny because they're mostly vintage stuff like the legendary Hammond-Ferrell brilliance. That was the last time I laughed at SNL. I stuck it out for a while afterward, for some reason, even after I saw a skit the entirety of which was a waiter warning people that their plates were hot and these plates turning out to be really, REALLY, REALLY hot!! I think that "Lazy Sunday" nonsense turned me off for good. I think I'll stay turned off and not watch anything else this year.

It was nice seeing Fey not being too heavyhanded for a change. I can't believe how far she got in the realm of comedy satire doing nothing more than saying "So-and-so sucks!" and waiting for laughter.

Been done before, though I imagine the film you're referencing will be considerably more serious than Timequest was.

Yay, superdickery!

No, no, this is Batman not Dick Tracey.

Heh, heh, heh. He said "dick".

The banner ad on this page is a new one--Air India. I was wondering why till I realized you can sort of force it into a double entendre: "I put my dick 'ere, in de, ah, snatch!"

Heh heh--I said "snatch."

I was about to say this is an odd turn the thread has taken, but then I realized that if JFK did indeed live he would no doubt find this hilarious beyond words.

I post and the new banner ad is for Disney Movies. Get four movies for $1.99 each. How singularly inappropriate for the way the thread drifted.

Well remember all the "You can see Mickey's boner!" stories, or the fucking fish in the background of The Little Mermaid, that may or may not have been urban legends.

There really was a naked woman in the background of The Rescuers, unless someone was photo-manipulating the screen cap to back up the claim.

I remember expecting great things from The Rescuers and being bored to tears by it. I didn't notice the naked broad, though.

Haha--naked!

Speaking of the appropriateness of banners: is anyone else weirded out about the various political polls where you can win $50,000 for voting? I know it's not "buying" votes, but it still seems unsavory.

The Rescuers Down Under is just about brilliant, so you might give that a spin.

I haven't clicked on that one but on the face of it it seems to be non-partisan.

It's a bait and switch -- they start you with "take our poll!" and before you know it you're wading through lots of very expensive offers. You never do get to see the poll results. Of course the way its set up there's no procedure to avoid multiple voting so the poll's not worth much as a poll anyway.
