Most nefarious? Most terrifying? Most sympathetic? Most all-around memorable? Feel free to discuss.

I would have liked to include Ned of the Forest, but too late now. :(

More so than Rhavas? I've never seen anyone so evil.

Then again, Rhavas is more frightening than pleasantly hatable. I cringe when he has a scene.

Jake Featherston. I liked reading of the rise and fall of a Hitler through the Hitler's own eyes.

Ah, thanks Cuss. Too late for me to vote, but I would have voted for Atvar anyway--I voted for him because he was the most sympathetic villain, and by the end he wasn't an antagonist at all.

JF a Hitler? I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about.

I vote for JF. If anyone didn't see this coming I will be suprised.

Atvar would have been a close second, that is, if the Race wasn't so annoying to read about once you've discovered everything about them. I couldn't make it through the Colonization series.

You didn't like the Lizards? They got a little flat as things went on but they never really annoyed me. As for discovering "everything" about them, new elements of their society were revealed throughout, though not everything was terribly interesting. HB had more value as pulp SF than it did as AH or even as a continuation of TL-127.

On the other hand I would have been shocked had you not voted for your namesake, though I didn't expect him to be polling as well as he did in the fraudulent 1939 election.

You can thank my many supporters.

FREEDOM!

Oh yeah, I remembered now. I got someone at college hooked on AH. He began reading the TL-191 series and then the WorldWar series.

I voted Other. The villain of "The Two Georges" is, IMHO, my favorite Turtledove villain, primarily because he's a self-effacing, competent villain.

Since the novel is a stand alone mystery as well as AH, I'm glad Trebuchet didn't name the villain. Pretty good choice, actually.

I was wondering if it would be bad to reveal a spoiler that old, given the fact that this is an entire board full of Turtledove fans, but it looks like it was the right choice.

Slade: Go find it.

Oh, spoilers shmoilers. I don't get why people get all in a tizzy over that stuff.

Does Turtlewiki say who it is?
