Some good news, albeit bear in mind PB may eventually try to block it, but by adding the extensions linked below to Firefox and Chrome browsers, then the PB ransom image is replaced with the real deal.
Firefox extension
Chrome extension
This is a painless exercise, it simply adds an extension to the browser and doesn't alter anything in your account or computer registry. Thanks to rubenandres77 on the RevellAtions forum for the heads up to this fix.

PB lost my trust and account weeks ago, I won't be going back. Also, what about Safari, IE and Edge users?

Looks like Photobucket are beginning to take the ****!
Got following email from them yesterday.

For Your Eyes Only!
Photobucket's International Customer Appreciation Weekend Starts Now! Here at Photobucket, we wanted to spend the weekend with our International users. And what better way to do that than celebrating what makes you, you! Your Independance Day, your Feast of Sacrifice, your World Peace Day, or even the new "eat two desserts day". Take the time to capture the moments so you'll have the memories to pass down to the generations. We are our history. We are our future. Did you know 1 GB is only about 400 standard photos? We take that in a day! Upgrade your Subscription to make sure you have enough room for all your memories.

Maybe they have noticed a falloff in usage.
Roll on the 'Ratneresque' moment...

Looks like my prediction of this being a 'Ratneresque' move by PB may have come true. It appears that there has been a change of management at PB and the 'locked' links from forums etc have suddenly become unlocked.

This will really p********* off those who had to stump up $400 to keep their photos visible - I mean the likes of businesses who reckoned paying the ransom was cheaper than the man-hours to change host and redo photos on business websites and even those who paid the lesser price demands. Will they get refunds? Not likely. Photobucket just can't be trusted
