To be held at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire on 13, 14 and 15 July 2018. The largest event in the UK of its type, full details will be available nearer the time.
The main event occurs on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. What I hadn't appreciated until this year is that on the Wednesday and Thursday before the main show two viewing areas are open for aircraft arrivals and on Monday for aircraft departures. These days are aimed at photographers but anyone who wants to pay £15 for the day is welcome.
I went yesterday with Mark and enjoyed what amounted to a private airshow for us and many hundreds of other enthusiasts. Toilet facilities were provided and a burger van did brisk business all day. The gates opened at 07:30 in the morning and closed at 19:30. During the day we had dozens of arrivals and departures and several rehearsal displays including the Red Arrows, the USA Thunderbirds (twice), a solo Rafale, Tornado, F-18 and many more. Arrivals included B-52, U2, B1, Tornado, F-16s, several Hercules and more.
2018 is the centenary of the RAF so it is expected that a special effort will be made.
Mark is there for the duration and will be publishing his pictures of this year soon. Here is a link to some of mine from yesterday.

I've already booked my ticket for 2018. I'll be there doing the Mach 3 package.

Hi all,
Well the day has arrived and tickets are now on sale.
http://www.airtattoo.com/airshow/visiting/airshow-tickets/standard-admission
RIAT 2018 will be a special affair, as it is the official celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the RAF. It's going to be a big one! And from the whispers I have heard a REALLY BIG one. There are three show days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. One day of departures (Monday) and THREE days of arrivals. This year they have added an extra arrival day of Tuesday.
I will be there for all seven days. If anyone wishes to join me for arrivals on the Tuesday or Wednesday, then let me know.
If you wish to attend a show day, then Friday will apparently have a special flypast.
I will be in the FRIAT grandstand from Thursday till Monday. However, if you want to attend on one of the display days then let me know. I won't mind spending a day among the peasants
Mark.

I'll be in the cheap seats for Wednesday arrivals again, thoroughly enjoyed it this year.
