As previously reported the Bruntingthorpe Fast Jets Taxi day at the end of August has been cancelled for this year. On the same site is the Cold War Jets Museum which is open every Sunday. Various aircraft and cockpits are on display and some are open. The museum is open from 10:00 until 16:00 and admission is £5 on the gate. Mark and I will be going on Sunday 20th August for a look and to take a few photos, would anyone like to join us?

Last time I went there was no catering on site and the nearest pub didn't serve food but there are other nearby villages that should have better facilities.

Please note, the QRA Hangar and the Lightning Preservation Group aircraft are not part of the museum and will not be open to the public.

All being well Luke will be joining us. We are also hoping to call in on the Armourgedden Museum which isn't far away from Bruntingthorpe

Not been there before, looking forward to it.

A very pleasant morning spent at Bruntingthorpe with Mark together with Luke and family. The young boys were invited to sit in the Delphin by its pilot which went down very well.

Mark and I went on to Armourgedden, a small but well maintained military museum and paintball experience but with added tanks. Looks like a lot of fun.

Thanks for the idea to go gents. The boys did like the cockpit of the Delphin and the moment the generators went on... those of us with a few more birthday parties behind us were also offered the chance to get in!

I was tempted to climb in but I wasn't convinced I could get out again...

Glad the boys enjoyed the day.
