Despite severe overnight rain, thunder and lightning in Leamington and hailstones here first thing Bruntingthorpe was warm and for the most part sunny much to my and Mark's relief.

We did have some thunder, mostly from this Lightning.

It was an exceptionally good day. The airfield was full of cars belonging to the auction companies that are based there, so much so that the taxy runs were held at the far end of the runway, two miles down from the regular start point. We managed to get in early and picked a spot almost dead opposite where the aircraft are positioned for engine start with an uninterrupted view. There were plenty of people there.

Hi all,

As Colin has already said, it was a great day, this year held at the other end of the runway which gave a nice backdrop of trees to all our photo's. Mine can be viewed on my Flickr album here - https://www.flickr.com/photos/129328003@N02/albums/72157694186612432

Here are a few of my highlights -

Nice photos gents I look forward to seeing them in various publications soon!
Mark you mention the trees as a backdrop - I know it's a bit weird but I don't suppose either of you took any test shots of the trees... without the aeroplanes in the way please :jest: ? I thought they would make good backdrops for photographs of models.

I didn't take any like that Luke but it is a good idea. If they run the August event from that end I will certainly take some.
