Hi Folks

Like many modellers of a certain age I spent much of my childhood pocket money most Saturday mornings in Woolworths and later Eltham Models on Airfix and later Revell 1/32 kits, most of the early ones were built by Sunday afternoon, paint optional. With the usual breaks for career and family I drifted back in to modelling several times but got seriously hooked when I discovered ATF in 2008. A visit to my first ever model show, Scale ModelWorld in 2008 completed the job and I joined IPMS.

With ATF I and several others displayed at the RAF Museum, Cosford model show in 2009. This lead directly to the formation of Airfix Modelling SIG and we have been displaying at 20 plus shows a year since then. I was for five years the IPMS Membership Secretary.

My main interests are aircraft from WWII onwards, especially larger scales but have also dabbled in a few 1/76 vehicles and 1/32 vehicles and have a long running project to build a diorama using all of the Airfix railway locos, wagons, buildings and accessories.

I look forward to meeting up with our new members.

Colin
