I've made a start with the etch.
Posted Image
Posted Image

One piece pinged off into the carpet. Onto the ejector seats now.

And once the canopy is on you will not see a thing !
The seats are now done.
Posted Image

The etch is pre painted which helps in this scale. The trouble is that some of the etch is numbered incorrectly so one or two of the straps may be wrong. One or two of them joined their cockpit brothers in the jaws of the carpet monster!

I bought these last year for the Sword kit. New intakes with dropped door intakes.
Posted Image

A perfect fit. Most probably the only thing that will fit properly on this kit.
Posted Image

Another good thing about them is they will provide a solid support for the front undercarriage bay/fan assembly. Only five parts!

The cockpit interior has been glued in place. A lot of hacking was needed to fit it in. The fuselage sides have been super glued together too

The wing has been assembled and after a bit of fettling glued into position.

Further work on the Harrier continues.

The Harrier is on its undercarriage and the canopy attached and masked.
Posted Image

The canopy is far too long and I'll have to do a bit of magic putty filing.
Posted Image

All of it bar the Freightdog intakes are a pretty poor fit so far. I had to take the front combing with instrument panel out to file it down to allow the front part of the canopy to fit flush with the rest of the canopy and fuselage. Me thinks the other three Sword Kits in the stash will be sold off pretty soon.

I used some deluxe putty to blend in the cockpit and fuselage, sanded it and primed the whole kit.

A couple of coats of H333 (EDSG) followed.

And decals which were a pain as they either folded in on themselves or broke up in the water.

And now completed thankfully
H.S Harrier TMk4N, No899 NAS 50th Anniversary, RNAS Yeovilton.

With its single seater anniversary buddy. An Airfix 1/72 SHAR 1 with Hasegawa anniversary decals.
