Hi all,

Next Sunday I am planning to go to the Classic Air Force Museum at Coventry

http://www.classicairforce.com/coventry

It is based at Coventry airport, near the Midland Air Museum. If anyone fancies meeting up for perusal of the exhibits and a natter/moan, then drop me a line and we can meet up. I had read recently that admission was £8, but on their website at the moment it is saying that entry is free. Apparently the catering is not the greatest, and I have been advised to bring my own lunch.

Hi all,

I spent the day with Colin visiting the Classic Air Force in Coventry today. I'll post some pictures during the next few days. But to start off I thought we could play a game called - Where's Colin? Can you spot him hiding in the photo?

You mean 'Where's Collie' instead of 'Where's Wally'

Hi all,

On Sunday Colin and I met up at the Classic Airforce Museum at Coventry. It is based beside Coventry Airport, and is quite straight forward to get to. Although not huge in size, it was a very enjoyable day out. The staff were enthusiastic at our arrival, and offered to show us around everything! We was given a tour of their Nimrod which was fascinating to say the least. It was good to walk around such an iconic aeroplane and to be shown some of the features. They have two hanger there. One with 'completed' builds, the other is a work in progress hangar, which we had to be guided round, by a very helpful member of staff. The museum itself is not big enough to warrant a whole day out, but instead I would recommend visiting it along with the Midland Air Museum, which is just round the corner. Admission at the moment is free. Here are some pictures of our day. Click on the link in my signature for (lots) more.

Mark.

It was a pleasure to meet up with you Colin. Here's a few of the Nimrod interior.

This device in the floor is what the crew used to see in the bomb bay was empty.
