North Midlands Model Expo Sunday 24th May; Show Report and Photos

Meir Model Club and Black Pyramid Gaming present
North Midlands Model Expo
Sir Stanley Matthews Academy
Beaconsfield Drive
Blurton
Stoke on Trent
ST3 3JD

10am - 4pm

A new show to the circuit - mainly aimed at the Gaming fraternity.
Two main areas roughly split 50/50 between wargaming and plastic modelling clubs with a similar split in traders.

A steady trickle of visitors but I guess a bank holiday weekend with a Stoke City v Liverpool match within shouting distance - we could hear the chanting as we were packing up - I guessed Stoke must have won by the volume (looks like it was 6-1, no wonder the Stoke fans were vocal) does not make an ideal data.

Myself, Tom, Colin and Tim put a fairly varied display - a few poor photos - again my camera does not seem to like the lighting in such venues.

Managed to avoid buying any kits but did get some tools and paint.

We had asked for four tables but were only allocated the equivalent of two so a lot of kits were left in the car. As Ian says it was a very quiet day but the venue was quite tidy and light and it was good to meet up. We also saw David Evans who provided some very good cars and a fire engine for the day.

In no particular order:

I got Airfix Leopard and Crusader tanks along with a Matchbox Harrier GR.1 for £4.00 each. :D

My two tanks came from under the table as did Tim's and cost £7 in total. There were several traders selling war-gaming figures and accessories and a few selling plastic kits and accessories but we didn't find any true bargains. That said we didn't have Ant with us to ferret them out...

If Ant had been there you would not have got even those meagre purchases....
