Just got home after long queue to get out of the car park after the first day.

As this was our first time at this event we only had a small table, but myself, Ant and Tom managed to fill it, even utilising Tom's coffee table as an extra stand.

Our table was under the Concorde just forward of the Port Main Undercarriage leg.

Quite a lot of visitors, many taking a good look at what we had on display. We were the only model kit display stand though there were a couple of traders selling some plastic kits. In addition there were several model railway displays and a few stands demoing flight simulator software but the vast majority of the stands/traders concentrated on selling die-cast aircraft.

Outdoor displays of a few military vehicles and some 'classic' cars of varying degrees of 'classicity,' but nowhere near the 500 claimed in the publicity - maybe they will all turn up tomorrow, but I am not sure where they would put them.

Some photos added but again my camera does not really like the artificial light in use in the hall. (Hope Tom or Ant can add something better)

Just back from day 2 of the show.
We decided to swap the display around a bit for day two but after we had done so we were offered a second table - 'which was nice' - so today everything was more spread out as we only had a couple of extra kits to add.

Things seemed a but slower during the morning than yesterday but the crowds picked up around lunch-time.
The traders started packing up around 16:20 so we decided to do the same, hoping to avoid the long queue to get out that occurred yesterday.

When I left the traffic was flowing fairly smoothly, apart from the fact that one of the classic cars had broken down on the exit lane and the '4th service' had just arrived with their yellow van - not sure it carries spares for a 1930's Armstrong Siddeley!.

Getting off the site and onto the motorway was much quicker as by the time I arrived at the end of the lane the Police had just opened one of the back entrance gates to the airport, which led out onto the main Freight Terminal access road - as a result it only took me 30 mins to get home as opposed well over an hour yesterday.

I am afraid I succumbed to the 'Ant effect' and splashed out a whole £4 on a Life-Like Hobby Kits 1/48 1911 Bristol Boxkite kit. It might turn out to be only £4 for the kit but as much again for the material to rig it, and possibly a great deal more for the tranquilisers if the rigging does not go well :fear: There appears to be quite a lot of nothing held together by string!

A great weekend, spent in good company. Today seemed to attract the modellers as we had a lot of interest in the display (same as the first day) but a lot more questions were asked and membership forms taken. Two organisations have asked us to attend their shows next year as well :thumb:
Ant hunted out a bargain for me a Beagle Basset for £10

Have not got anything to add to the display pics but here's what was available over the two days.

I will be happy to bring her along. I think we need to find more events like this. There are a few shows at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre (part of Meridienne) near me that are very much boat/railway/engineering based that might welcome a varied plastic display. I'll make some enquiries.
