A very good day out at a very well organised show with thanks to Gerry, Glen, Mark, James and Chris. Sorry you couldn't make it Tim, you would have enjoyed it. As Mark was with us we should see some excellent photographs later so I will spare you most of mine!

We had six tables

We have a new mascot

Glen entered his E boat into the competition and was awarded a 3rd

And Antics Models awarded Glen for his W&G diorama their trophy for their best in show. It is awarded for the model that best demonstrates having fun with modelling.

We all acquired a few kits along the way and we had some success on the Tombola. Which were won on the Tombola and which were purchased from the many traders present I will leave to others to decide...

An excellent day out. Thank you to all at IPMS Avon for putting on a great show and for letting us have six tables.

Colin

Hi all,

Well, I've been back a while, after a wonderful day out at the IPMS Avon show. Travel to the show was a bit better than the awful rain last year, but I did manage to see a crashed unmarked police car on the M4 :wicked:

As Colin said, we had six tables of which Gerry used one table for his vac forms, which as always, attracted a lot of interest due to the quality of build and the colourful aircraft on display. We used one of Gerry's boards which we put on a variety of prop planes interspersed with Gerry's buildings. It looked very attractive and interesting for the people attending.

It was good to meet up with Gerry, and also Colin and James again, and good to see Chris and Glen as well. We managed to fill the rest of the tables with a varied display that seemed to please the passing public. I'll post some pictures later.

I had a bit of a splurge on kits and ended up with another seven for the stash :fear:

We had another winner, as Colin has already said with Glen winning two awards. Well done Glen :thumb:

I've now got a few free weekends where I hope to actually do some building in time for my next show in September. I'll put some photo's up in the next few days.

Thanks to all for an excellent day.

Mark.

Hi all,

before I post any pictures, I was hearing that the M4 on the way home was horrendous and it was taking ages to travel back. Personally I left Thornbury about 5ish I think, and apart from the traffic slowing down a bit, I didn't experience any problems. Was I lucky? or were the delays earlier or later. Just curious.

Anyway, on to the photo's. I tried some different settings for this show, and one day I will get it right. Here are the one's I didn't cock up of the AMSIG table.

Colin was selling some built kits with the money going to charity. There was lots of interest, and they sold well.

The rest are of our display.
