Remember, you must discard down to six.

Every time Hatchan Tribe discards a card, it will be shown here. You may add one to your final hand, giving you seven cards.

Wait they also had a red 3,4,6,7...

Is this set up for us both to bet on 5?

I think I actually discarded a 5 of hearts. But I noticed, that they have the potential for a royal flush in spades. I don't see any spades higher than a 9, and that could be their winning hand.

Hate to be the one to point this out, but them having the Royal Flush of Spades is still possible...

I actually sorted the cards out using a literal deck of cards, so once I get back home, I'll take a closer look.

Oops, ninja'd by Zoro... Zoro, would you mind going back to your card thread and rechecking that? If we know there's no chance for the straight with that, we'll know we can get rid of some of those cards.

Well if they have the royal flush of spades we lose no matter what, because theres nothing higher.

Potentially we could get a straight or even royal flush of Aces, but thats leaving a LOT to chance. In the last 4 cards there'd have to be a 10 of hearts and Ace of hearts, or a 10 and 9 of hearts.

Not true. All suits are ranked equally. If you had a royal flush in, say, diamonds, it would tie.

Then in that case, we'd have to turn in our final lineup first. In that case, though, we'd probably already by too late, since they will have gotten to the final stage, seen their flush, and promptly turned it in.

I think we take their King of Hearts, our King of Clubs, Queen of Diamonds, Queen of Hearts, Queen of Clubs, Jack of Hearts and one more

We have the 3Q2K highest possible full house and a shot at a straight/royal flush (the only thing that can beat our hand)

I think that's definitely the best option. There's no other way they could beat us. They have no chance of a straight flush.

The 21 cards left are

A, 2, 8, 9, 10 of Hearts
2, 4, 5, 7, 8, J of Clubs
5, 8, 10, K of Diamonds
A, 4, 10, J, Q K of Spades

The only thing that can beat our queen full house is that royal flush you all are mentioning. BUT, they are only able to retain 5 cards. Based on that I think there are 4 scenarios:

  • They already have it and we lose!
  • They are one card short, crossing their fingers and going for it!
  • They are two cards short but still going for it! And have 3 tens or eights as their backup
  • They are short of the flush and are abandoning it for a ten or eight full house

The ones bolded are the more likely ones imo. Long story short; let's hope we see one of those spades in Arlong's hand.

Echoing what Zoro said. We know our hand is great and picking that King actually gives us a sliver of a chance for a royal ourselves. We've also deduced that there's only hand that can beat us.

Haha, I actually took your idea. I'm currently looking at all the cards they could have and that could be in the final 4. They only way we can get a better hand is having the Ace and 10 of Hearts in the final 4.

As for the last card, I'm not sure it matters. There's no other card we have that could help us get better than the Full House.

For the record even if we had a lower straight flush or 4 of a kind, we'd still be sweating over them having a royal, Kakakaka!

Okay, so I think we're agreed to take the King of Hearts from them, then have our King of Clubs, Queen of Clubs, Queen of Hearts, Queen of Diamonds, Jack of Hearts, and some other card?

This is the best option in my opinion.

I agree that they probably don't have the Royal already. If they did, I'm sure they would have already turned it in and beaten us. After all, if they did have it, there's no way we could beat them; we could only tie, but in that case, whoever turns it in first wins. Unless Arlong and co. isn't planning on telling us until after we submit ours...?

But if they can't get the royal flush (maybe they did the same thing we did and accidentally discarded some of those unknowingly), we have them. Any other straight isn't possible, a four-of-a-kind isn't possible, and whatever full house they might have shouldn't be able to beat ours.

We don't want one of those spades to be in Arlong's hand though, right? Those cards are shared amongst both tribes like in Texas Hold'em, I thought. So if they're short a spade and Arlong has it, that should give them what they need.
