CHRISTINE HARRISON SHORT BIO Christine Harrison has been involved in Montessori education since 1985 and was Principal of the Canberra Montessori School, one of the largest Montessori schools in Australia, for over twenty years. She is the founding President of the Montessori Australia Foundation and is on the Advisory Council of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). She was Chair of the Association of Independent Schools in the ACT and on the Board of the Independent Schools Council of Australia. Christine is currently involved in government liaison, policy development, compliance, early childhood and school age curriculum development and liaison with Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) on behalf of Montessori early childhood education and care services. She has worked in Thailand presenting training courses for Montessori Administrators and is a speaker at national and international conferences. Aisha Z Abdullah BIO. (She said we can feel free to edit/shorten if we want) Aisha Z. Abdullah is the founder and principal of the Sri Kayangan Montessori school in Shah Alam, Selangor. She is also a co-founder of Nature World which provides consultancy work for the setting up of preschools and teacher training. Trained as a lawyer, Aisha was called to the Middle Temple (Bar-at-Law) in London, England before qualifying as an advocate & solicitor (Malaysia) in 1992. She worked in legal practice of in the areas of corporate, commercial and family law litigation before becoming a senior legal advisor to a private healthcare group with hospitals throughout Malaysia and south east Asia. Aisha holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom and completed her secondary school education at Battle Abbey in East Sussex. Aisha is currently President of the Montessori Association of Malaysia (MAM). As a qualified Montessori practitioner (Dip.Ed Early Childhood Montessori Education, London Montessori Centre) and Adv.Dip, Elementary Montessori, (North American Montessori Centre), Aisha also authored a book “Why Montessori? Choosing the Right Preschool” (Times Media Publishing) in 2001. She recently obtained her Masters in Education (Montessori Integrated Learning) in 2015 from Endicott College, Beverly, Massachusetts, USA. To facilitate and grow child-centred initiatives in the country, Aisha volunteers as a trainer, providing Early Childhood/Elementary Montessori training as well as Child Protection Programmes to various private establishments such as GLCs (Government Linked Companies) and other government institutions interested in the field of early childhood and elementary care & education. Keynote title: Best Interest of the Child - Are our Children adequately Protected This would be about child rights and needs (survival, development, protection and participation), child advocacy and child protection. Breakout titles: Breakout: Montessori and Autism : Bridging the Gap Breakout: The Integrated Classroom - Cosmic Education I have asked her for a short write up about each. Once I get these I will post here. She has said her ticket will be about RM 600 (return) |

Update on Keynotes. Christine is OK and will send her files soon. Aisha has not replied to my emails. I will follow up again. Ibu Ella is now unable to attend but the secretaries are trying to find out who is replacing her. They do know about it and are following up. We will phone again on Monday. |
