So I know when making my character and all that fun stuff I have a few small questions. 1) What is the starting equipment for this board (or where is it located if I failed my search check and missed it) 2) Are we allowed to have animal familiars of some kind? Well its technically not even a real animal, more like a spirit guide in the form of an animal that only my char can see. Is that allowed? And I think that's it. Thanks in advance! |

I'm gonna try and answer these for Riele, though I'm relatively new here myself, so if she contradicts me, then well... it wouldn't be entirely unexpected, but judging from some somewhat similar questions in the past, I'd guess she won't. Right so, in answer to both questions: This is a free-form board and so, technically speaking, anything that fits in the fantasy genre fits here. There is not list of starting equipment because there are no limits to what a character may have, though keeping it within reasonable bounds is generally expected and much appreciated. It is also important to keep in mind that other players will often avoid characters who have an answer for everything tucked away someone on their person simply for the reason that rping with such a character isn't very fun. It is also imperative that a player remembers that godmoding and powerplaying are big 'nono's. With that in mind, anything you think your character requires is alright. No one will be going over the profile and telling you to drop things. The spirit guide is also most definitely allowed (there's not a whole lot that isn't) and sounds like an interesting addition to the forum. Again, though this is a fantasy site, sometimes it is important to keep things realistic, not in making the animal disappear entirely, but in giving it some limits of your own imagining. Limits and boundaries just make things more dynamic... in an interesting sense of the word. Hope that helped. I probably shouldn't have tried, I'm rot at trying to explain things. |
