I've just realised my bronze cory's have laid eggs for the very first time... I'm pretty sure i've got two females and two males. But they've laid the eggs all along the heater... is this good or bad for the eggs?

Thanks fishr
That's what I think... surely they'd get too hot when the heater turns on? |

Dunno if they'd get too hot on the heater, but I reckon the movement of cold/hot water would be good for them, just like other eggs where the parents fan them... I'd be inclined to move *some*, and leave some as a test - after all, it's been mentioned before that cory eggs are nice and resilient, and you can roll them off surfaces between finger and thumb... |

As they hatch fairly quickly i cant see too much harm being done, when cory's lay on the tank glass i used to use a razor blade and small hose to syphon them out. |

Thanks Stu & Aggies... I've got no where to move them too at the moment as the scissortails are now in the qt tank ready to easily catch tomorrow morning. These corys & eggs are in the 90L guppy tank, there is only about 8 guppies in there atm but whether they'll spot the eggs & eat them i'm not sure. Guess it's wait & see.. especially seeing as how the fish will only be fed once a day while i'm gone instead of the 3 times a day when i'm home. I guess I really must have done something right when I decided to give that tank a major clean out... ... mind you, I brought these bronze cory's as babies so they've probably just reached sexual maturity in the last month or so. |

As you wish Mars...
Not alot to keep updated though... I think the guppies are eating them as there's not many left... I just finished a water change on that tank though... So if these cory's are anything like my albino's they'll lay more eggs soon.. My albino's lay eggs about once a month so far straight after a water change.. |
