I brought 3 new cory's today and i've been scouring a few websites trying to fully ID them... The closest i've come up with is:

Corydoras kanei
Corydoras brevirostris
Corydoras melanistius

Out of those three i'm tending to lean towards Melanistus but i'm still not entirely sure....

Anyone here got any ideas?? :unsure2: :unsure2:

In my opinion looking at my reference book "The Complete Aquarium Guide Encyclopedia of Tropical Freshwater Fish" I would identify them as Corydoras melanistius or black spotted cory. They originate from Northern South America and grow to a maximum size of 6 cm. Nice looking fish you have there.

:thanks Sevrum ... Glad i'm not the only one who thinks Melanistius :thumb :thumb

And yeah I really love them & think they look great ... I first saw them at the pet shop last weekend but ummed & arrred over getting them. Decided I should get a few of them even though I couldn't work out exactly which cory they were and the pet shop had them down as Schwartzi's   (which I knew they definately were NOT!! but they wouldn't listen to me!!)

If they were Corydoras Schwartzi-schwartzi and they definitely are not there would be un unbroken line just above the join in the row of bony plates.
