Neyan had amassed a large amount of Exp over the last few weeks from events. But everything had been killed for him, activity as well a social gaming with others. Within this amount of time, Neyan hadn't logged into Alfheim for a very long time. His Virtual Reality helmet collected dust and life as he knew it seemingly just continued. This left Neyan in a bit of a funk, he felt like he had no purpose in the world with gaming. He constantly kept asking himself who was he and what can I do... To make a difference. These two questions always clouded the young adults mind while everything else around him continued on as tho he didn't exist. Everyone was black and white to him, void without any sort of facial expressions. Of course when it came to serving coffee, Neyan had to keep up the appearance of a lucky go happy persona every time a customer walked in. It killed him, going to school was normal and watching the sky with a dull yellow gaze, the highly intelligent fool got the idea of returning to Alfheim. Now Alfheim had changed dramastically since he had last been there, war had broke out, new dungeons had opened up and lets not forget the players. Oh how did the players swarm in with all their noobness. Neyan's concentration was drawn to the school bell ringing and everyone popping up from their seats. It was here where our protagonist grew a well formed smile, one in which would startle the teacher which would make him say, "Happy New Years Mr. Genta". Today marked the day of winter break, a splendid time to make a return to his favorite video game, Alfheim online. "Happy New Year". Our protagonist replied as he closed his book gently and got up from his seat, leaving the classroom. Now Neyan got in his head an idea, life around him resumed to speed up as this realization started to come into his thoughts. He started to reel in the revelation to become someone worth remembering, someone to be seen as.. "A hero.." Came his low voice as he slowly cracked open his apartment's door. This ideal would set in motion a chain of events that he wouldn't be able to see coming. He enjoyed the challenge, Neyan hadn't noticed how spanned out his thoughts were, not realizing he had ignored all the traffic sounds on the way home, the dogs barking and the partying happening just across the street. He swiftly took off his vest, unbuttoning the white collared shirt he was wearing. Once the protagonist got a idea in his head, it was pretty hard to get it out. It lit a burning fire in his chest, his home had been dark and his room was messy. But all of this did not matter, once unbuttoning his shirt he began to unlace his shoes while walking to his bedroom. "It's been a long time.. Can I really.. Become a hero?.." Neyan asked himself as he danced his eyes over to his Virtual Reality helmet. Neyan had a lot to amount to, had a lot to go through to get to where he could be. There had been so much he had missed and messed up in the past and yet, he couldn't prevent multiple wars breaking out. Smooth fingers grabbed upon the helm of the Virtual Reality helmet and the reflection of the protagonist stared deeply within the reflective surface. "From here on.. There's no turning back!" Came his voice as he climbed into his bed, resting his head. Hovering the helmet over his scalp and placing it over his eyes. The feeling to do this once more in such a long time was mind boggling. The young student steadied his heart beat and gave a determined expression before gently saying, "Start Link" said the student as everything spanned out with a huge display of a spacial environment. Neyan found himself soaring through the cosmos, his body being nothing but pure light and the stars he passed by, splashing unto his ethereal figure as it created his body. "Aahahahahaha" Neyan chuckled as his body started to manifest in mid air within the starting city. It didn't take long before a burst of contrast erupted with a sparkling display. Revealing the warrior known as Kennosuke had materialized back into Alfheim online. Kennosuke's brawn delicately glistened from the sun that laid high in the sky. Banter of fae folk came all around and Kennosuke gently descended unto the rocky pavement with a wide grin. "It's good to be back." The warrior announced to himself with a hefty tone to his changed voice as multiple exclamation marks indicating new things were in his inventory, suddenly appeared. Scrolling through his notifications with a screen hovered in front of him, the newbie Emilia would be walking by, just witnessing the sight of a star player making their return. Emilia woke up, hitting her alarm clock to the floor as it rings, the sun filtering in through the window next to her, her somewhat questioning why she placed her bed next to it as she shrugs, getting up. Her golden blonde hair was strewn messily over her face, an oversized shirt acting like a dress on her as she goes through the motions, doing her morning routine even though it was already far past noon, taking a shower and eating breakfast and lunch. She yawned as she looked over to her VR helmet, knowing she had nothing better to do than just waste her life away on ALO like usual. Despite the hours she put into the game, she was still relatively new to it. Most of her time prior was spent RPing and nothing more. She thought for a moment it might be a good idea to make some progress instead of just grinding for RP, slipping it on her head as she gets used to feeling what her character feels, it being an odd sensation to her that she both loved and hated. She loved the feeling of the game, the various textures and gradients it had, but hated how people can just mess with her by doing things like poking her for no reason. She sighed, ready to just forget that and dive in. "Start Link~" Her body seemed to fade as her character avatar formed on her, the light that now made her body turning to skin and clothing, the contrast bursting in her vision as she spawned in and twisted into forms and shapes, the void and blackness filling in with an ocean of color, her standing in midair as she descends, the flight controls being unfamiliar to her still as everyone she asks tells her to just fly. She got the idea, but was only able to pull it off in more open areas due to running into things. She quietly sat down, just watching others as they discussed various things and topics, her inbox being empty as of late. She checked it to see again, she had 0 new messages. It probably didn't help most of her friends list was gone by now due to people leaving the game for one reason or another in her area. Emilia witnessed the man return to the game, her looking up a little as she manages what little inventory she has, most of it either worthless or too cluttered for her to care, despite its small quantity, setting her longswords into Weapon Set 1 for her to 'hotkey' to. She had amassed a sudden burst of EXP recently from the current Beta testing phase occurring, her entering it on a whim but pleasantly surprised at the free stuff, the brand on her hand an obvious sign she received the rare skill she chose. She found it ironic and at the same time fitting of who she was in real life, but unfitting based on how she acted in-game, a detail she had assumed would not be an issue since it was just a game mechanic, albeit one she didn't even know existed prior. The brand blood red, she looked it over before getting up, swaying her hips as she walked with an allure and charm she could only use here since she felt disconnected in some way from the pressure of a public space, approaching Kennosuke, her player tag, Währwieß hung above her head as her eyes have a certain nervous look as she stops, before returning to her persona. "So, you seem excited about something." She giggled, looking away as she parts her snow white hair to the side of her face as she feels her arm brush past her chest, it bouncing a little as her arm makes the hit detection on it glitch out a little to do so, it looking smooth like her skin, her behind the screen blushing as she leans on a wall not intending it to go that well, continuing "What's your name?" Emilia tilted her head as she awaited his answer, her eyes a light lavender color, her skin pale as the light reflects on it, the particle effects around the lantern on her staff flickering on her back as it flared and waned with time, her clearly knowing how one modifies their character animations but not many technical skills like combat in any advanced way, no armor equipped to her as she has none despite her Cor being more than enough to afford it, Emilia genuinely having on idea you don't have to have it crafted as most she ran into had it crafted. |

Everything seemed to be to Kennosuke's liking, the modifications to his reflexes and sensitivity settings had been left unchanged. These new features he was experiencing were surely something to look at. Christmas had been just a few days ago and a icon indicating a present had been delivered to his inventory, blinked rapidly. Clicking on the box, a description sprang loose before a picture of spiffy shades appeared. It was the piece of the set he had been searching for, remembering that he was rewarded Exp on his birthday along with his signature weapon, Cometsoul. A smaller message below it had read that his gift was unfinished and would come at a later date. It's name came to be, "Flameburg, can you hear me?" Came Arce's voice to test out his newly unique item before without warning, another voice shot back in response in his thoughts. "Yes Master" Flameburg replied, pleased to greet its master. Shortly after speaking, Flameburg materialized onto the helm of Kennosuke's nostrils and onto his frame. Virtual space was a personalized area where a user could communicate without anyone knowing. It was a seperate reality from the virtual one which they already were in. In new Alfheim, there were three realities which were created since Kirito and Asuna’s time. The physical plane which we all called Alfheim, the ethereal plane which was dubbed, Virtual Space, and finally inner place which was the reality within the player. This space was something that was uncanny and users would only be able to communicate with their Npc within these areas. Coming to view was the lion-oid creature blushing to itself. It seemed to be very fond of Kennosuke's appearance and couldn’t help but have a huge tint of blush rush over their face. Kennosuke was amazed at the appearance of the being, of course he was the only one who could currently see it but none the less, delighted. ("Hmm, You're a pretty companion. You don't seem to exhibit male or female counterparts though.") The warrior announced in his thoughts as he began his stroll through the starting city. "I can be whatever gender master would like!" Flameburg yelped in return, pouting with their fists drawn down and their posterior raised. They truly were fun to poke and tease, he was glad to had such a realistic instrument to his call. Not to mention Flameburg's glasses state matched with what he was wearing and made him blend better in the large crowd of fairies. Looking around, Kennosuke could see holographic deals and cheat codes rush by in panels. It seemed Flameburg was not just for show and appearance, but far more than that. This was another way of Kennosuke staying ahead of the game, Kennosuke couldn't help but chuckle softly to companion's attitude. He could feel his comfort returning for this place and the need to become the best all over again. What the Scrunt wore was generic faction armor that came in the shade of gray. As he slowly pushed passed fairies who were shopping and getting their bargaining on, the Scrunt warrior continued to talk to Flameburg. ("Hey Flameburg") "Master?" ("Can you also do something about my attire?") "Of course master!" Flameburg threw back with excitement as Kennosuke's body startle to sparkle and his appearance instantly changed. Kennosuke now wore a bandanna across his forehead but that wasn't the only thing that had changed. A strong defined belt buckle along with torn pants and gauntlets had materialized on his person. Flameburg had completely executed a full alteration of Kennosuke's garb. From his Mohawk hair to his very scarlet eyes, even small features of scars and earrings. "I scanned your likes and dislikes Master, I hope its to your liking." Came the little lion-oid's cute voice as it tossed a flirty wink and giggle in the corner of the screen. "I dig it little cub." Returned Kennosuke's response as he stood in place to check himself out. This look was more suitable than when he went around crusading as a starter. The sun was up high in the sky yet the atmosphere was cold and chilly and in fact, there was no clouds present. If anyone had forgotten, it was winter and the temperature had dropped severely to give player's a edge on surviving while they were logged on. Snowflakes as fragile as can be began to stride across the air in down fall upon Kennosuke's shoulders. The view of Aincrad in the winter was so beautiful and baffling to many who hadn't visited Alfheim before. Witnessing such a scenery, Kennosuke's attention was interrupted by a pulsation so strong, it jerked his body. He hadn't felt such a sensation in a long time, there was another Deva Destined around somewhere. "Master?" Said Flameburg with worry in their eyes, they seen the look in Kenno's face when they felt the power. It only brought back memories of the countless of wars that he had missed out on. Before Kennosuke could properly respond to Flameburg, a voice approached the warrior in a very abrupt but formal manner. Asking him of his excitement, "Währwieß? Doesn't sound Japanese." The warrior announced as he observed her behavior. Taking note of her Avatar's name which was right above her health bar. She was a strange one indeed but introduction was a way to break the ice. Not a doubt in his mind that she was the one he was sensing, she was the Deva meister! "Call me Kennosuke.." The Scrunt said somewhat annoyed. Flameburg Edited by Utopian, Feb 24 2018, 04:40 PM.

She saw him zone out as he talked to his NPC, her wondering how people did that still as she didn't even know how one would even know they have an NPC. She wondered to herself what it would be like for a second, since they all seemed more human than AI at times, with only a few minor hiccups. In her mind, this is probably where most of the development time went after the groundwork was laid, seeing as her own hitboxes often collided and made her virtual body glitch out a little occasionally when it came to interacting with things. Just as she pondered why her hit detection was so off so much of the time, she felt an unfamiliar pulse run through her body, starting at the brand, her straightening out her back against the wall as she grips it, the feeling making her slightly lightheaded as her lack of constitution in the real world became apparent, which was odd, considering the things she tanked through normally. She relaxed herself after she feels it stop, her having no idea what just happened but being fairly relieved that it was over. She finally registered his words, responding as she nods "I-It's German, though I'm not that. I just picked it because it sounded cool, I'm pretty sure it doesn't actually mean anything..." She said matter-of-factly, knowing she might as well just be the equivalent of some loser on the internet trying to be edgy, continuing "Nice to meet you Kennosuke, you can honestly just call me Emilia, I don't mind." She was nervous for several reasons, none of which had to do with the conversation ironically. The first reason was that both she and Kennosuke seemed to react with the odd pulsing in them, her not knowing how to interpret that with full accuracy without making it far more awkward than it needed to be. The second was that she wasn't used to talking to people outside of her region and hoped to god her accent didn't make her completely unappealing, not minding much if the opposite happened although she'd find that out later at some point. She looked at the man, tilting her head as she noticed his annoyance "I'm sorry if I'm bothering you." She presented herself in a more confident way now, a look of genuine concern on her face as she leans against the wall somewhat lazily. As she awaited his response, her eyes met his briefly, looking for something. For what? Even she didn't know that one, it just felt like the right thing to do for some reason. She didn't know what she was expecting, but it had her feeling more conscious, not in her appearance, but in how she presented herself with her mannerisms and such, clearly not used to this kind of thing. She fidgeted with the back of the silky cloth kimono her that went around her waist and chest, the bow under the thick trim of it made up of two sashes tied together over one another in shades of purple, one a light lavender with the other being dark plum, the lighter blue overcoat forming her kimono to her chest tightly keeping it up, her having it lowered to show off more of her chest than most would consider reasonable, but she didn't mind it. She gently moves her fingers over the folds of the bow, straightening it out as she subconsciously put her finger under each sash pressed against her waist, running her finger casually along it all the way to the back, forgetting that she just met Kennosuke, immediately stopping as she remembers this fact, people around her that knew her well being very used to the small little things she did to compensate for or cover up either nervousness or some awkwardness she could unintentionally create at times. Battles, battles were fought to often bring peace to the land. But it also brought death and tragedy along with it. Battles left battle scars on the survivors as a token of their worth. After such a long visit in Fólkvangr, Kennosuke surely didn't want to look back on what transpired there. So the war wasn't as bad as they said, pfft, just watching it from a far would make any little kid piss their pants. One battle was over but it was just the beginning, Kennosuke and his Roaring Tempest had a long way to go before ever reaching paradise. And what riches did the war give the Scrunt after the life risking extravaganza? A long funk which he had just got brought out of. What brought the Scrunt warrior around these parts was simple really. Logging back in, Kennosuke could understand that the largest city in Alfheim was the first place to drop him. But with this Undine in his way, she could quickly tell he certainly wasn't in the mood to be joking or making idle small talk. After the Fólkvangr battle, everyone wanted a piece of the Roaring Tempest. There was a lot to deal with in the coming of days and first thing was first, adjusting his body back to these controls. It had been long since the Sacred King set out on adventure, he almost forgot what it was like to actually be the badass guild leader that he was but still he was in good company and the Scrunt couldn't help but be curious about her. A small drizzle of snow softly fell from his face and everyone would feel the chill ride up their spines. With the new year underway, the blasted holiday never truly held meaning to the Barbarian, bust still, rustling up some chicks never bothered him. There were a lot of rumors roaming around these parts but only one that which he cared for. Though little did the Scrunt know how much he had changed since that experience, this however wasn't the same for anyone who came into contact with the Scrunt. A ever looming, dangerous vibe shrouded over his figure. Just walking passed the Sacred King would grow chills down anyone's spine. Kennosuke couldn't simmer his blood thirst anymore than he could his excitement, it grew to miraculous proportions since the Fólkvangr battle. What a hero's welcome it was, after everything he had been through, Kennosuke didn't expect there to be any rest of any kind from this reality. Rising high in popularity, one had to accept the consequences that battles brought. Many fairies died, a lot of souls were lost, but what Kennosuke saw and accomplished that day, wouldn't make him a warrior, wouldn't make him a sinner or even a champion among fairies. What truly was made out of the Scrunt and comrades that day, were Reluctant Heroes Kennosuke exhaled a vague fog from his mouth as he turned his eyes onto Aincrad in the gloomy atmosphere. His pleasant, orange gaze reflected tossing flames in the distance. "Heh, cute name. I'll give you a small tour of this place to help you familiarize yourself." The scrunt warrior announced to his newly found comrade, Emila, as he stared deep onto the scene. Fire twirlers were everywhere on the streets and if not by now they hadn't figured out, the place was having a fiesta. There was a lot on the Scrunt's mind, just coming from out of semi retirement like that, left scars that couldn't just be healed with medicine. That day of the battle, those long hours in the meadows. Kennosuke saved many lives, including his arrogant crusher, Ziana. They had a kin like relationship and the Barbarian would die for the female if she still was around. Truth be told, Kennosuke ignored some of the theatrics that was going on in the city and exchanged words with the undine while he gave her a small tour. He used to be so ruthless and was the cruelest out of the Roaring Tempest, but that still laid within him... A flashback quickly interrupted their reality almost instantaneously and Kennosuke once again found himself battling the mighty Dark Imp general, Barrett. A humongous dark shockwave took center stage to the frame and Kennosuke stood a couple feet away from it. There were a lot of doubts that they could survive this battle but Kennosuke would never allow one of his own to be killed here. He pushed Ziana out of the way just before collision occurred, the mere sight of a gigantic wave of darkness was never so delicate to the eyes. There the Scrunt stood, gale wing taking the majority of the attack and the rest of the streams of darkness tearing streaks into his body. It was a good sacrifice, whether than allowing such mutiny, the scrunt didn't mind all the scars for a loyal comrade. Speaking of comrades, the sight of the fire twirling fairies grew closer, filling the guild leader's eyes in the gloomy day of light. His networth had increased dramastically since then and their were still hunters out there that wanted to challenge him. A good distance in town told the Scrunt just that. Bums and whores of all kind just walking around the streets, begging for their next meals. He took pity on those who chose to be weak, he along his comrade weren't like them. No, they were much more. Kennosuke couldn't shake the feeling of disgust when some of the street prostitutes began to flaunt their scurvy teeth at him. Yeah, the pour life alright. This was exactly the type of place weaklings would when not getting enough points. "I don't have long here before npcs begin to start recognizing my user" explained the scrunt to the undine as he fiddled with the tip of his nose, wiping it. Surely there were bounty hunters and renegades of all kind around just looking for a fight, but for once, Kennosuke wasn't aiming to do that. This was a haven, in fact, a paradise. Even with all the filth lingering around you couldn't really say it was suiting a Barbarian such as the Scrunt. The usual lanky little teens walked around the place just bothering anyone they wanted to because they were affiliated with a presence that controlled the marketing place around the parts. Remembering all those dead bodies started to flash through his mind and it was a very uncomfortable feeling to think everyone around him was involved. His heightened senses erratically raced at every sound and he could of sworn he was getting a migraine from it. "Hey sexy thang, you have a sweet ass. How bout you let me and my boys do some freaky deeky on yah and we'll give you some of this enchanted candy?" The youngster said while his perverted grin perked its way into a sly smirk, his hand holding a bag of pills to a Undine. Now from his peripheral vision, Kennosuke could see and hear clearly what was going on, however he didn't want any business with roaches. "Uhhh, go away. Go gank someone somewhere else. You're making my head hurt more." The scrunt explained to the group with a annoyed tone, shoo'n his hand at them. It was one thing that he had came for a drunk and another to hear the harass of under aged spiffs trying to get virtually laid. "YO WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT!" The fairy who seemed to be the leader of the group yelled, springing a switch blade from his pocket. Looking around, only a moment would pass by before a dreaded teen appeared gawking at Kennosuke's sword. "Yoyoyo, check this sword out brah. It's wavyyyy" Said the dreaded teenage fairy as he slowly went to touch the rare weapon and sure enough, a gale of sharp wind quickly whirled up. Relieving the fairy of his limb with a single sharp swoop. "Ahhhkahhhaha ahhhhkahhaaa, my flipping hand man!" A geyser of digitized blood sprayed in the air and all Kennosuke could think of while a group unafiliated fairies started to gather around him was, "Where's that drink lion" Edited by Utopian, Feb 16 2018, 03:22 PM.

"Thanks. I'll join you once things calm down in a sec." Amelia looked on as the Scrunt dealt with his harassers, her knowing half the people here would be banned in about an hour simply because to look as unattractive as some did, you'd have to be modding in ways that would easily break the terms and services. People got laid all the time here and they were fine, which was somewhat hilarious to her considering the game's PR wouldn't lead you to believe that since it tries to be as squeaky clean as possible. In her mind, she saw the appeal to a minor degree and always wondered how that would even go but just never tried anything like that since she knew it'd be awkward as hell given she usually tends to make things more awkward by default of her being there, as well as that she'd probably just mess it up far beyond repair. She sat, her legs crossed as she let him enter the bar alone for a little seeing how stressed he was. She noticed two gift boxes in her inventory, tapping them as she widens her eyes at the rare weapon, her somewhat disregarding whatever else she received, setting her new sword to Weapon Set 2, planning to use it in a serious fight were she to get into one. She walked in and sat next to Kennosuke, sighing as she noticed the people around her either ignoring, attempting to flirt her, or like the majority did; moving away from her like the plague. She really did understand why people had the mixed reactions they did, but wondered what kinds of things they heard about her, given she's now known as either the someone very strong, yet really weird or the equivalent of the one guy that only here to RP and not actually play the game. The latter had some truth to it only because she well knew she couldn't get very far without a party since she was technically a support and her stats reflected that in some capacity, although her offensive stats wouldn't let you know that at first. It was mainly her low armor and defense in general, as well as her race which she mainly picked due to its looks alone in addition to its more Gothic aesthetic after you tweak the settings a bit. She looked over to Kennosuke, leaning her chest on the counter in a relaxed manner, not making eye contact as to not paralyze herself with nervousness, glancing towards him to let him know she is paying attention, her hair being decorated by 2 dark purple ribbons with blue beads hanging down off of them, the excess going down the sides and back of her hair, sighing a little "I'm sorry I-" A tall man with a great-sword on his back and a confident smirk puts his hand on her shoulder, looking a little too suave and polite to be in this area of floor 1, "What's wrong sweetie?" he asked almost with a false blindness to Kennosuke, something being very off already. "I'm already here with someo-" She felt a hand brush by her waist, not wanting to look out of embarrassment even though she could guess her fate from here, already sick of this scenario "Can you not do that..? I really..." She paused, her face red from embarrassment but coming off as some form of enjoyment as she gets up, turning to face him "I really don't want to have to make a bloody mess here, but I'm afraid I'd enjoy it way too much right now, I mean I was cut off twice you know~." She gave him a bright but wry smile as she sighed slightly, not putting up with this this early in the morning from her perspective, giggling darkly as her eyes narrowed at him. He seems appropriately shaken by her sudden face-heel turn from helpless to competent, him being fully aware of her reputation previously, only now taking it very much as fact, simply turning around and briskly walking off in the opposite direction, her giggling and sitting down again, leaning on the counter like before with some confidence as she could now at least look into his eyes as she spoke, looking up at him "Like I said, sorry for just leaving you here, I just wanted to check on something." Were these the fairies he fought to protect in the dark battle? There was no innocence within their eyes and only intent to murder without warning. Kennosuke could feel anger welling up inside him, his path was chosen for him when he ever picked up his VR helmet. But now, when looking at these little thugs, he didn't see himself, he only seen scum who wanted to be pirate of some kind. The Scrunt's gaze soon fell on the crowd that began to fill the streets from the commotion of the boy's screaming and so on. Heck, luckily for them he didn't use gale to just go full out killing people after. Such a obedient weapon was surely to be looked at when judging the situation, fore it could have gone a lot worse than it was going to get. The barbarian didn't know anything but brawling, of course there came times where people were decent enough to talk to at times. But more than likely everything came down to fists. Emila came up just before Kennosuke stood up and the crowd juked back. They were aware of the kind of man he was, the scars along his body had proven he had been through a lot of shit. Let alone whatever the hell he was carrying, was not to be fucked with. Grasping the shirt of the punk who had the audacity to grab Emilia's ass. Kennosuke growled, annoyed to the fact to the man's stupidity in his presence. "Die.. Fool" the scrunt said in a low, nonchalant tone while wind spiraled uncontrollably. Blasting the entire bar with pressurized air and sending every one but Emila, out of the vicinity. Reluctant heroes was the name of this story, another different story. Time and time again had each fairy faction wanted to reach the one hundredth floor to become the fairy king. It was a dream like no other, players didn't even know if the rumors were true. But still till this day, no one really had reached that far. There was so many things to explore in Alfheim, secret dungeons and legendary artifacts. Even Original Sword skills was a must have, it all came down to if everyone was devoted enough. Flameburg could see that within Kennosuke's eyes, a fiery determination that was lit when he decided he wished to become a hero. This wasn't to go without saying that Kennosuke hadn't already done great deeds. To him, they were only but a stepping stone to what he actually wished to achieve. The Scrunt warrior quickly thought of the comrades that once were around him, no longer did they play Alfheim and their Beta brands were wiped clean from their Avatars. Kennosuke couldn't escape this game however, he was one of the original player's to test the system after the huge reboot a few years ago. His mainframe was backed-up and supported by the developers who produced the game. Kennosuke was a asset to them in advertising their new content. The name Reluctant Heroes told the story of two people who came from different worlds. Living in shades of gray while society continued, Kennosuke didn't want to live his life too fast but felt like his life was going too slow. The only bit of excitement he got was coming here. Ashamed of how his life came about, entering Alfheim released all this stress off his shoulders. He felt like a whole new person looking through someone else's gaze. Getting back to what was happening, the woman before Kennosuke seemed to flush in his presence. He found that she was a bit awkward given her appearance. Though he quickly remembered that she was a newer player. Flameburg swiftly scanned over her body without anyone knowing. Sending multiple panels across the screen, "Female Undine, multiple loading errors for her avatar detected. Odd anomaly also detected.." Came the words to Kennosuke. This confirmed the Scrunt warrior's suspicion. But he now had a question of his own to ask her. "Have you took flight yet?" Kennosuke asked once more, dwelling further in conversation. This however would never be answered, during the conversing of the two fairies. Another set of eyes laid on the two, watching them from the shadows. It wasn't until Flameburg announced to Kenno that he caught on. Taking shape in the midst of the two was a inkblot spiraling erratically, all you could hear was the laughter of something that wasn't human. "The great warrior returns I see. Making friends are we! You left me here all alone and just woke me up when you returned! How mean of you! You didn't even say Hi!" The voice exclaimed as the background around them started to fade to black and their Beta brands started to shine. "Master!" "Arrrrgghhh" "Damn you Deva Destined!" Returned the voice as Kennosuke and Emila began to turn into orbs of light. It was here that the creature would make a appearance, a stony pedestal first emerging in the middle of the air and shortly after a hat with nothing underneath it. ![]()
"Hello Deva Destined. I need your help! My fields are being plagued with creatures of darkness and I am in need of the god blessed. Please, help me..
Huge teal and translucent butterflies swarmed the place, fluttering around this certain area before a face could be depicted within the swarm. Dispersing, the ferret like being showed to be pouting, his well wrapped sword, held in front of them. A screen sprang up in front of the both of them, showcasing that this indeed was a special quest. This quest was just a normal quest. In fact, Kennosuke and Emila began to glow even brighter as the being talked. Sure enough they vanished, warping into the middle of Jotunheim's gloomy, snow flooded skies. This would briefly catch Kennosuke off guard as they now fell from the very atmosphere. Flameburg quickly dispersed into little sparkles, returning back to Kennosuke's inventory while his white hair flailed powerful through the updraft from descending. From a bird's eye view, the great floating castle, Aincrad sat amongst the horizon and looking further down, Kennosuke could pick out that they were free falling towards a large snowy forest. With a tense in his shoulder muscles, he’d quickly activate his Travel Terrain ability to pounce on the very air. Working as a parachute to decrease the velocity that he was falling at. This however wasn't evident to Emila. "That must be a new update. NPCs can activate their quests now on a whim.." Kenno remarked to himself as he cringed his eyes. Catching the corner of his eye was Emilia still free-falling. The air was more frigid from how high they were, which could explain why her wings hadn't self deployed. The Scrunt, Salamander and Narf races were good in cold conditions, their wings radiated heat as they fluttered. Creating a vacuum of hot air to dispel the cold from freezing their wings. "Da hala uk neh" Kennosuke chanted, a word wall suddenly appearing around him as he aimed his hands down at Emilia. A reddish glow soon emerged around her wings and Emilia would feel a warming sensation that'd indicate she was safe to use her wings. "Cold resistance spell" He exclaimed to the female as he swiftly falcon dropped beside her with an enthused smirk. "Think of your wings as a extension of your body. Think it and they will move!" Kennosuke remarked heroicly.

Emilia had seen others fly, though she assumed she'd get it at later levels, which in hindsight made her both look and feel incredibly stupid. She didn't really listen to whatever tutorials existed, thus being in the dark on the non-obvious game mechanics that littered Alfehiem, her only discovering them through accidental means or just experimenting. Besides, she never really saw flight as necessary since you can't fly in a dungeon generally, and in her case she was really only very good underwater, a place she suspected would never be nothing more than a situational gimmick...unless you could just flood an area? She wondered about something in theory, not expecting such an obvious tactic to be overlooked, but all the same expected it not to be possible, let alone a niche thing since it would in theory be the most popular way to play an Undine. Her train of thought was interrupted by Kennosuke asking her if she'd ever flown before. "Not really, never had a reason to I guess." She turned to face him, her relaxing herself a little now. Her relaxation began to fade as she felt herself now airborne for some reason, her skipping whatever dialogue happened on her end, her getting something involving the DEVAs and some kind of kill quest. She paid little attention to the NPC in all honesty, suddenly feeling herself free-falling at a speed she wasn't exactly comfortable with, knowing fall damage was probably a thing since the physics elsewhere were as realistic, glitchy as they may be for her. She nodded to her companion, agreeing with the sentiment as she summoned her own wings, flying now with an ease she didn't think would exist based on how it looked to her, but hey, it was actually pretty simple. "Got it. Had a feeling it worked like that, just never did it since it's just for exploration." She had no idea what she had to kill for this quest, but didn't care much if she could win with a reasonable chance of success, which was heightened or lowered based on Kennosuke's skill in combat, which seemed competent enough from her point of view. Emilia started casting her standard 3 spells, making her HP, MP, and FP completely invisible, each time an almost identical layout of runes and keywords, there being slight variation between each. She was very nervous, but didn't let it show as she descended, fully ready to just zone out and prepare to bust up some enemies. That was really all she knew how to do really, never having to do anything else other than just raw damage in a quick manner. She never actually did the traditional job Undines usually did, but it worked well enough to simply not do that, the notion seeming patronizing to her by a large degree. She rapidly descended to the ground now, checking out her surroundings and the snowy landscape, her recognizing the beauty in it oddly enough. Her eyes observed the area, wondering how far it actually went, like either it was just draw distance or actual three-dimensional space being taken up. She wanted to forget that this was a game at times, this being one of them. She had this desire just so she could enjoy it for what it was for once.

It was good that Emila was getting a hang of the mechanics of Alfheim. This little adventure that they were thrust into was only going to get worse, and Neyan had to know whether or not she was capable of protecting herself in battle. As he acknowledged her nod just before passing by her in speed. His feral gaze locked directly on the low leveled monsters down before he gave a confident grin. In all honesty, Neyan had enough strength & experience points to already be on the fifth floor. This before him, wouldn't really be a challenge, but a warm up. Multiple flash panels of the warrior's previous comrades, spread across the screen in black in white. He started to remember Ziana and the things she often told him. This world was many things that were worth exploring, now as these images came about. The Scrunt grew a wild smirk on his face while hunching down on the transparent platforms that were created by his terrain travel ability. Oh how he enjoyed the feeling of returning to this place, even though he often felt dead inside. When he was in a bad place, the only good image of his life he could actually think of was being in Alfheim. Without a second though, Neyan bolted off with a sharp whistle of air dragging behind his frame. He retched out his arm in a dramatic manner before a sparkling glow appeared. "You're in my way!" The scrunt cried out as a sword emerged within his hand and a shield on the other. Boom! Came the explosion as Neyan sliced through the snowy grunt with ease. Electricity shrouded his body, thrill scouring his face. Soon after that, multiple icy grunts came rushing in at Neyan. Neyan didn't hesitate to demonstrate his massive power. Roaring out his anger to show his might. "You're in my way!" The barbarian shouted again while he maneuvered into a ax flip. Leading the tip of his forefoot into one monster's head while the other monster behind him caught the back end of his heel from his other foot. Reducing them to snowy particles, Kennosuke gracefully landed on his feet with a smooth gesture. His momentum was un-flawed and his posture hadn't broken. Without a second to spare, one snow grunt launched at Neyan from the air while another from his backside. It was here when everything became toasty, "Your small numbers are pathetic!" came the protagonist's voice as he stabbed his crimson sword into the snowy monster behind him and brushed off the airborne one with the face of his shield. All the while, Kennosuke was attracting more monsters from the winter tundra. Large icy golems emerged from giant icicles and rabid hounds tore through the wind. Neyan didn't fear to be overwhelmed, in fact he was counting on that they surrounded him so that Emilia could showcase her support. A barricade of stormy wind began to tear around him the moment he activated his storm aura. Taken the scene to look almost like a blizzard was stirring. "Gahhhhhh!" The warrior yelled as his hair flared up and he tensed his biceps. This was a transformation skill, one, only unique to the spriggan and scrunt races. He wasn't too familiar with what they did but all Neyan new was that he could feel power rushing into him. His figure vanished when the small snowy outbreak disrupted, simultaneously appearing and disappearing around the place at blinding speeds, slashing at the monsters.
