The Beginnings of the Overall Story.

Okay, so everyone in the cbox have discussed that a story is needed. While it is understandable that everything is brand new and building a story takes time, and that everyone should have their own freedom to build their own story arcs, it would still be a much better idea to lay down some sort of fixed story to everything. So that this site doesn't turn into an anthology where every role play is random and has nothing to do with each other.

That being said, we've all agreed on a basic framework of what that story should be. While this may become the lore that governs the exterior story of the site, it will not affect how people tell their personal story. This is merely a reason behind how these personal stories can even exist together.

The idea I came up with that fits perfectly with how things are on the site, in my opinion, is about the conflict brewing between two ethereal deities who are polar opposites to each other. One of these deities is a benevolent, all seeing, all knowing god of Order and Time. Basically this being is the reason the multiverse is organized and everyone is where they’re supposed to be. Without him, everything would be out of order and chaos would ensue.

This is precisely what what this deity’s twin brother wants. While one god upholds the order of things, this other “Mad God” does everything in his power to break the order. In their eternal conflict of Order and Chaos, there was always balance. Everything was always as it should be, everything had enough order to exist in a stable multiverse and with enough chaos to keep the universes’ diversity so that not two would be alike.

Unfortunately this balance was tipped into the favor of the Mad God, and things started to go awry. Key figures of many universes began to disappear from their timeline, and reappear in another’s without any knowledge as to why. Since then the multiverse was more connected than it ever should have been. Heroes being removed from their worlds to let the evil they were supposed to face accomplish their devious goals, or the Evil from those worlds removed and taken to another to wreak havoc in a place they shouldn’t be.

Whatever the future may hold, whatever stories or new adventures that come these affected universes, it can be said that things will not be the same as they were before.

That's the story how I visioned it, feel free to reply and say what you think should be changed or added on. :)

I just wanna add that this story gives us a clear reason why everything is happening, yet also keeps things open for the roleplayers to develop their own stories with it. There are an infinate number of universes, but all in one single Multiverse. Any story possibility is.. well... possible. This is only a way to connect it all together, and lead up to probably some interesting arcs regarding universes where situations are happening where they shouldn't. Like Madara showing up in FMA to cause some trouble, or Goku being taken away from his Earth before the Saiyans show up for the first time. Situations like that will be interesting to see.

We could have an arc where there are parallel universes. Since according to the multiverse theory, every time someone or something makes an action, another universe is created where we take another. Every universe making infinite decisions making infinite universes. Therefore, literally anything is possible.

Well yeah, considering Hikari is -FROM- a parallel universe from Naruto's, that's a good possibility. In Hikari's universe, Naruto doesn't have Nine-Tails in him so the universes broke off form that point. Having a set multiverse and underlying story, yet no limit on individual universes allows for great possibilities for interesting arcs.

While the idea sounds fine, Nanashi in my version of the story was no hero. He was a killing machine that only grew a conscious after already having served in 6 wars where the accumulative body count he built from the ground up reached the thousands. In no point has he become a "hero" yet, merely taking on the role as Guardian for Luffy and Yugi, deciding to become somewhat of a body guard for the two of them. When you add Gods into the mix that has them interfering in the characters story arc, claiming that the character was set-up for some grand design that I'm not a fan off hearing.

I also do not understand why several people from various timelines would reappear in a single place. The only thing each of them shares is a high power level and while that seems like it isn't a big deal it makes it seem like the intention of this is a tournament of sorts. Yes I'm aware the intention of the site is to grow stronger but that doesn't need to limit the site to one giant end all story, I would prefer that in the place of a "Main Story" that we have several mini-events, each action a character takes highly influencing the current universe.

The idea would be not to have a set story but a beginning event, from there the "story" can stem from a single action, solving a diplomatic solution with threats, calm influence or opposing force. I believe this would give it a more open versatility so that everyone's character can be given freedom.

Nanashi, you misunderstood the concept. These god like creatures are not interfering with character's story arcs any more than you wish them to. Odds are they will never even meet a character in IC and remain a outside force rather than actual characters. The idea is to give full freedom to the role players to develop their own stories, yet have those stories connected by an outside presence. These story arcs I'm talking about are not something one person will make up and say "This HAS to happen." I mean you can really make up whatever you want and have it be canon in some way.

As for why all these specific characters are being taken out of their worlds and placed in others, it could be random, it could be because they play a pivotal role in their timeline, who knows? Does it really matter what the MOTIVES behind the god's rearranging of things are? Not really, if people want to know more about why these beings are doing what they're doing.. we'll add it in. All that matters is that this connects the multiverse and gives a reason of HOW these people are not in their universes.

And they wouldn't be all going to the same place mortal kombat style, unless that's what the roleplayers want. They could just be sent to another universe that belongs to another character.

By set story, I do not mean a linear story that everyone has to follow. I mean the lore behind the scenes that give reason behind how all of this dimensional travel is possible at a LARGE scale. The freedom of the role players is pure and not limited at all. The story arc of the entire site will be probably written as it goes along, this is just the beginning of it all.

Hell this doesn't even have to apply to everyone if they don't want. If they already HAVE a way to jump universes at their disposable, cool they can do what they want. This can only apply to those who DON'T have the luxury of just jumping ship and going over to another universe. Like my character; there are no clear ways for Hikari to leave her universe... and that presence a problem for me. I could just make up some random ass way, but I don't like doing that because I like it when things make sense.

I don't see why an established Lore is needed, you want something that all characters have in common when that is already present, each of them exist in the same timeline. The deities do seem to interfere in the story line when you write that they are in fact the reason that everyone has been brought in this set timeline. If you want their stories to connect, ti should be as simple as interacting with said characters and having them form relationships.

And yes it does matter what the motives for the Gods are when you state that they are the entire reason for this all happening. If you want to connect the multiverses, I say give no set explanation, they are in this strange universe and for the matter of keeping them in said universe, they do not know how to get back. Some may lament on the loss of friends and families, some will be grateful for the second chance and others might have been criminals that don't care why but they're here now.

Focusing on the beginning isn't important if it will not play a part in the future. I say progression is the way forward, write what your characters lore is, if you want to involve deities in Hikari's story, I say go for it. Nanashi is content where he is, he knows there are things he cannot control and so with the strange new world he decided to embrace it and move on.

*Sigh* Fine, I give up. We can keep it at, "It just happened." Instead of giving things more depth.
