Nanashi was kneeling in the middle of his cave, his hands on his thighs as he meditated. The swordsman had spent weeks training in solitude and now that he had reached what he believed to be the pinnacle of his strength, he had to challenge the demon, Hachi, though there was only one way to do that. Nanashi had unlocked the secret of drawing out the Dark Hado, an energy that resides in most humans and if one could draw it out, it augmented their abilities ten fold, only other users of the Dark Hado seemed to be able to sense it, this was how he would challenge his foe. With a deep inhale, Nanashi's muscular chest pushed out, he opened his eyes, a dark purple glow surrounding his irises as he began to channel the Dark Hado, an aura of purple flame beginning to shroud his entire body. The process Nanashi was subjecting himself to was incredibly dangerous, only one other being was able to accomplish what he was trying to, the demon Hachi had managed to fuse the Dark Hado with his own natural qui/ki and because of that, became the living embodiment of power. As he moved his hands to the side, he opened them up, his palms facing up towards the ceiling of the dank cave he made his home, here is where he would either ascend or fall. He knew that the process could consume him, to become a being of pure power, he trained relentlessly, strengthening his body for a year alone, through his training, his harsh discipline, his power and physical abilities were at the peak of human ability, yet, that was not enough. To become a god, he had to cast aside fear and doubt and instead embraced the possibility of walking forward into his own doom, only then would he be able to become something more. In each palm, a blue flame erupted and crackled lightly, his cave walls grew a blue tint before the flame started to darken, becoming purple, the dark hado working through Nanashi's body and manifesting itself through his Qui, now what he had to preform next was going to be the most excruciating pain he had ever gone through. Nanashi had to remain in a state of Dark Hado until it had ample time to mix with his own energy, if this was done wrong, the Dark Hado would affect his body in such a way that he would be rotted from the inside out. However, he did not spend all his time training to fail, day by day he would put himself through the toughest training regiment he could while at the same time, using bursts of Dark Hado to increase his tolerance. Nanashi's muscles flexed, he had bulked up a lot since he had first started but was it enough? A year was a short amount of time but any longer, he knew the Dark Hado would corrupt his mind and he would be nothing more than a feral beast, soulless and fueled with hate. As he concentrated, the clouds above would begin to darken, the sky was covered by a menacing grey as they formed a spiral above Nanashi's cave. The winds began to pick up as Nanashi battled onward, keeping his Qui energy up in order to match that of the Dark Hado, he grit his teeth and strained as it felt like his back and chest were being pulled apart, yet he continued to hold his energy. Suddenly, the flames in his hand began to flicker, he was losing control over the Dark hado but still, he was managing to hold onto it by a thread. "No! Not yet! Not yet..." Nanashi straightened his back up and closed his eyes, the flames in his hand no longer flickering, he was back in control. A small stream of crimson began to leak from his nose, the strain on his body was immense but he knew this was nothing compared to what was next. Though he could not see it, outside, the sky and clouds grew a dark red color, flashes of lightning tore through the sky as the clouds swirled overhead of his cave, almost like a tornado was about to touch down. Nanashi could feel every cell in his body as if they were being torn apart, he groaned loudly, trying to keep himself going, the purple flames in his hands shifted from blue to purple faster and faster, as if the process was nearly complete but he did not know how much longer he could go on for. A bolt of yellow struck down from the cave, a pillar of light striking the top of his cranium as he let out a pained yell, the swordsman's qui extinguished as he collapsed to the side, the light disappearing as he fell onto his side. Nanashi could hear his heartbeat as he looked up, a hole had been carved through the stone and through it, he could see the moon overhead. The dark red of the clouds reflected off the moon as Nanashi lay there, his breathing beginning to die down, his heartbeat slowing as his focused on the moon. The blackness of death began to close in, his vision was obscured around the edges of his sight, his pupils fixed on the red moon overhead. Each beat was like that of a slow drum, Nanashi knew what was happening, this was his end, the swordsman was dying. "This is it...I failed...that bastard Hachi won..." Nanashi's eyes darkened, his pupils becoming dilated as the red glow of the moon was the last thing he saw before Nanashi died. Word Count: 943 |
