The Laws of ARPF Please read everything before roleplaying. Don't be intimidated by how long these set of rules are written down just below this post. Rules are important because it creates order and clarifications; hence, just read it so you wouldn't end up in trouble or at least cause one. Some of them are repetitive; the reason is because we're stressing their importance. There are two types of rules in this forum, which are listed below:The rules are organized and color-coded to show which consequences it is when it is disobeyed. Below are the color codes for the consequences: Consequences of the Action - Deletion - Ban - Warning, possibly resulting in a ban. - Warning, possibly resulting in a deletion. - Rant and/or warning - Just informing you Each action only gets one warning. **Remember: Please follow the guidelines/rules. (----- Credits to Engi for some of the rules. -----) _____________________________________________________ ©2006-2009 **Most of the Rules here were written by Uchiha Itachi (revised by Uchiha Sasuki), as well as the other Admins.** ARPF: Anime Roleplay Forum ALL RIGHTS RESERVED |

A. General Rules A-1. No Leeches. You registered on this forum to roleplay, right? So in order to actually do so, please sign-in the character you want to roleplay in the "Character Registration" forum. Don't just leech yourself here in this forum without posting/roleplaying anything. If you just registered just for the fun of it and didn't register your character in the "Character Registration," we'll delete you/your character. Yes, I know that you're just looking around and that's okay. If you're interested in ARPF, please register a character of your choosing. If you're one of those people that are looking and planning on not registering an application, just remember that your account's existence is on the line. A-2. No Slackers. If you registered a character and don't log in your account for more than about 1 year, then say "bye-bye" to Anime Roleplay. Those who are roleplaying Canon Characters...be warned, you're not safe from this rule at all. You're most likely to be replaced by another roleplayer if you have been idle for a long while. We don't want you taking up space for a character, when someone else might want to take your place. To those who are placed in the Newbie or Validating group , you have about a month (based on your Last Activity) to register a character in the Character Registration forum before we delete you. To the Registered Members: If you leave for vacation, then go to the "Out of Character" forum and post in the pinned topic "Going away for a while?" about how long you will be gone, so we will not kick you out. Don't keep us guessing whether or not you'll return. We don't really want to accidentally delete your account. If you don't want to come back, please do us a favor post in the Graveyard. At least log in once in awhile. Every time you log on, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to post a roleplay or something. You can just log in to chat with the other members, if you want...but, please roleplay once in awhile. Don't log in like a year later or something. We Admins keep an eye on your Last Activity in your Status: [HERE]. It's located in your Profile. A-3. No Insulting & Harassment. Especially in the OOC forums. This is pretty simple...hopefully. Please do not insult our members or insult the Admins. If it's all for fun (in the roleplaying section), then that's fine. But when you take it to personal matters, racist (or etc)...bickering could erupt. When a member/Admin asks you to stop, please honor his/her request(s) and do so. Please keep your respect because we will warn you once. If we need to warn you again, then consider a ban and/or deletion. A-4. No Interfering. When there is a topic (whether it is a roleplaying or not) that you feel like you don't belong there...then you're probably right. Don't go there and interrupt. Sometimes, it gets irritating when someone tries to jump in the topic (even without asking the ones in the topic/story first)...especially when it is a 'tense' or 'private' moments. But this doesn't mean you're not allowed to post on the other members' topics. I'm not saying it's a crime. You don't have to ask them if you can post with them, just post if you really want to. If you're unsure about it, you can either PM them and/or post, saying "I hope I'm not interfering" or something. Just have some respect. A-5. No Spamming Or Flooding. We don't want your spam and your double/multiple posts (except for forums/topics that allows this). Spamming is absolutely not allowed in the roleplaying grounds, unless permitted by an Admin (ask us for permission first via PM). There's an EDIT button...USE IT rather than spamming. Don't bring in unrelated comments in a topic and don't reply (with a spam) to bump up your topics. If you don't listen, then we warn you once. Do it two more times and you're out. Not everyone here lives in the same time zone, so be patient. If you're in a roleplay where the other roleplayer you are interacting with doesn't return in a long time, then we will close the topic, and you may move on to another one. A-6. No Criminals. That means we don't want people who have been banned/banished to come back by registering again. Trust me, we will KNOW if you come back. And if you do, then consider another deletion. If you're really a criminal from another site or in real life, don't think your wrong-doings will be ignored. We will know...eventually. A-7. No Plagiarism. We're very strict with this. We keep this site clean and simple...that means you CANNOT copy other people's work unless you are permitted to. Plagiarism means that a person copies another person's hard work without permission. If you are using websites that you copied information from, please cite it. But if you're going to copy another person's work, please ask for permission first or else you'll end up in trouble. If you don't pay attention to our warning, then we will instantly BAN you. And don't try to reason with us since we have eyes everywhere...we're not kidding. A-8. Anything Here, STAYS HERE. Just like what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Anything that's made//written [excluding the roleplay posts that are made by YOU ONLY...DON'T JOCK ANY POSTS THAT IS NOT MADE BY YOU] on this forum SHALL REMAIN HERE. I better not see any other forums copying//stealing the banners//images//buttons that are made here, even taking the rules, AND the codes that are put up here. You need to ask permission first! Why? Because WE spent HOURS AND HOURS on creating these rules and codes and it is UNACCEPTABLE to under credit us and jock without permission! I also better not see anyone copying and pasting our ideas onto their forums and then changing some parts to make it look like they did it without asking us for permission and crediting us! That is called SHAMEFUL JOCKING and it will NOT. BE. TOLERATED. This is indeed the worst offense on this forum and if you do this ... then consider some SEVERE consequences. THIS FORUM IS COPYRIGHT. Understood? A-9. No Signature And Personal PM Advertising. Your sig space is a place for your nice character's face...and your clan/group button. We don't want you to advertise pointless things there because it results in another site "spidering" ours. You get one warning and the advertisement is deleted. If you put it back, then we will ban you. Don't create an account just for shameless plugs. We are not here to help your marketing campaign. If we see you with less than 10 posts giving away links and encouraging users to go to different places on the net, you will be banned. Even if you have more than 10 posts, and we feel that all you're doing is shamelessly smearing your good-for-nothing plugs on the forums, you will be banned. If you want to advertise in a proper way, you MUST put it in the Advertisement forum instead of individually sending personal messages (PM) to the other people since you're pressuring or 'brainwashing' them to join your site or whatsoever. I'm pretty sure some members dislike being told to join this and that. They'll join if they want to. They have their own free will to choose...so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't pressure and PM the other members to join whatever forum you are advertising to them. A-10. Don't Be Rude & Conceited. As a member, please don't act like a know-it-all or express your sour/ugly attitude. If the character that you are roleplaying has that kind of a bad attitude, then that part is okay. But if its YOU (as a person), then it's not okay. It's really annoying to see those kind of people who thinks that they're all that and are ignorant. Be polite and have some manners. As humans born in an educated society, we not savages or barbarians. To those know-it-alls...if someone gave the wrong information and you want to correct them, please do it in a proper way by providing some decent and plausible proofs. A-11. No Illegal Requests. That includes porn, drugs, or anything sick and inappropriate. If you even request just one time, then you will receive a rant from one of the Admins and will be banned. A-12. No Troublemakers & Rebels. We Admins work hard to provide you an easy roleplaying experience. When we tell you to fix something, then fix it. Don't start an argument/debate that will result into something more chaotic. If you have been warned/banned and heavily disagree upon it, please don't lash out and fight back. It will make things worst. If you disagree with our actions and start yelling, then consider the word silence. If you have a problem, contact an Admin and discuss your issues properly and intelligently. If you fail to do this, for example: by disagreeing without a reason and lash out at us, then we will not be afraid to just ban you and save us the trouble. If you respect us, then we Admins will respect you. Remember, we are willing to work with you, if you work with us first. A-13. No Open Fire. If you have a problem with any one of the Administrators or another member, then do it privately via Personal Messenger (PM). We don't want a riot just because of you and your stubbornness. When you have an issue with another person, both parties need to communicate decently and should be level-headed. Cooperation is essential. If you have a problem, don't start yelling or something and act like a child. Please, have some manners and respect. If you are so mad at something [not someone in this forum], then rant in the "Life" sub-forum under "Out of Character." If you need consolation, then use the power of PMing; otherwise, keep to yourself. A-14. No Foreign Languages. Unless you put the translation in English on the side. We know you want to show the world how happy your ethnic pride is, but consider the others who can't understand what you're saying. This entire forum is in English. If you want to speak your own language, then do it through PM (if you want to talk in private) or talk to a fellow country member; but, you are still required to put an English translation if you post it in a public place. Please use the universal language of English since I'm sure most of us can understand it. Communication is important in the community. When communicating, we all want to understand each other. A-15. No Mature Contents. This forum has young members that we would like to keep their minds clean. Keep things in PG-13 and below. For those with relationships (whether in real life or roleplaying), don't describe any intimate moments and other private things that most of us really don't want to read about. A-16. Make Good Titles. When you create a topic, make the title related to the content you will be discussing or roleplaying about. Don't just name it "Test" or "Wow! Cool!" It's stupid and degrades the forum/topic to others. A-17. Try Using Correct Grammar. This is a literate forum. Don't use l33t talk or anything that's found annoying by members. We understand that not everyone here speaks perfect English. However, being a forum where writing skills matter in roleplaying, we heavily encourage that you try to spell correctly using correct grammar. It's okay to use l33t (if translated) or some garbled language as a joke once in a while, but don't make it a habit...especially when you're writing a roleplaying post. It annoys everyone here, and will make your time on the forum short-lived. A-18. One Character Per Anime/Manga/Show/Etc. Per Account. In other words, NO DOUBLE//MULTIPLE CHARACTERS. We don't want two different people roleplaying the same roles/characters. There's like a billion characters out there to choose from, so find another one if the character you want is already taken...or, you can just make up a character. As for your accounts, you can only roleplay ONE character on it. That's why your account name is your character's name that you chose to portray. If you want to roleplay another character, go register another account. A-19. Multiple Accounts/Characters. Having multiple accounts/characters IS ALLOWED. That means you can own as many characters as you want. With each character you want to make requires for you to make another account. However, please be responsible for your characters and use them for roleplaying. Don't just register a character and not use it for roleplaying. ROLEPLAY THEM! Don't abandon your characters and leave them as decorations. Log in them once in awhile. You don't even have to post a roleplay if you're feeling lazy. Just logging onto your characters allows us Admins to know if you're active...that's all. A-20. Name Changing. Please PM any of the ACTIVE Admins if you're going to change your name. If you register a character with a different account name, then the Admins have the right to change your account name to match with your character name. A-21. Roleplaying Deceased Characters. You may roleplay a deceased character, but make up a creative way about how your character didn't die that "tragic" death or came back to life. Take our Admin Sasori, for example. He wrote how Sasori (a deceased character from the anime/manga Naruto) is alive in his Sample Roleplay (you can only see it if you make an account here). If you can't think of any, don't worry! Just pretend that your deceased character was magically brought back to life in the ARPF world -- that's mainly the default plot. A-22. Character Roleplaying Regulation. Well, the title may not seem a bit clear, but I shall be explaining it. What this means is that even though this forum is called ANIME Roleplay Forum, that doesn't mean that you are restricted into roleplaying only Anime//Manga characters. You are permitted to roleplay ANY characters you want...whether it comes from books, movies, non-anime//manga, etc. Yes, we're very flexible on what characters that each members can roleplay. A-23. Read the Contents of this Forum. If you got yourself accepted and became a Registered Member, please read the majority of the contents of this forum -- especially the ARPF Handbook. Most of the people don't even read the Settings section, and that's the most important section asides from The Laws itself. I'm not saying you should read everything all at once, but please do take some time to read what we wrote here so that you wouldn't get lost. A-24. Have Fun. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Have any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions? Please send a PM to Uchiha Sasuki or Hyuuga Nagasaki. Drop a line through PM (Personal Messenger), which can be located in our Profile (by clicking our member name). |

B. Roleplaying Rules B-1. Read The Handbook. Don't know how to roleplay? Then look in the "ARPF Handbook" forum, especially the How To Roleplay topic. Basically the general usage of roleplaying is THIRD PERSON (he, she, etc.). First person IS allowable (by means of putting I, me, myself, etc.) -- that is, if you know how to use it. An excellent example would be HERE; though, you MUST be a REGISTERED member to see it. When it comes to roleplaying in a topic, please just use either third or first person. Don't switch from one or the other since it will confuse other people. Second person (by means of putting "you"), however, is NOT allowable. You CANNOT use first person in your Sample Roleplay for your application; third person only. B-2. The Story. Yes there's actually a story line here. What? You think you can just pop out of nowhere in ARPF and roleplay whatever you want? That's partially true. If you are registered in this forum, you are able to read the Settings forum. Everything that you need to know about the plot line of this forum is there. Use those information to your advantage to base your RP off of if you don't know how to start your roleplay here in ARPF. The most important info on how your character got here in ARPF is the Welcome topic...so please read that. B-3. Stick To Your Character's Persona. Don't make them Out-Of-Character (OOC). When it comes to roleplaying a character (especially a canon one), don't go completely out-of-character. Roleplay how they're supposed to act. STICK TO THEIR PERSONA AND THEIR PLOT LINE. We're serious, picky, and very strict about this! Don't mingle your personal matters to the character you're roleplaying. For example, if you're generally a hyper person and is suppose to roleplay a stoic character, you better not plug in your hyperness to your stoic character just because you want to. Roleplayers are just actors in writing. You have to think like your character; those thoughts must correlate with your character's persona. Just because you roleplay this certain character, that doesn't mean that you could make them do whatever you want. Those characters have their own personality. Even for deceased characters, you must maintain their profile. Like Uchiha Itachi from Naruto, the roleplayer has to maintain his indifferent attitude/posture...not making him all giddy and girly. We want people who can roleplay, not people who can be fans. For example, if you roleplay Himura Kenshin (from Rurouni Kenshin), then don't act like a total girl OR fan. Try to keep your character's demeanor...or roleplay another character who can fit your profile. B-4. No Plagiarism. We're very strict with this...that's why we're repeating it again. Each individual people has their OWN style of roleplaying...so, don't copy them. If you didn't know, some people here actually wants to be unique and wants to keep it that way. B-5. No Controlling Other Members' Characters. Unless granted with permission. No. This is NOT allowed unless that character is one of YOUR account(s) AND is in the SAME topic with OTHER people -- not just you by yourself, that's just sad. You CANNOT control other members' characters//accounts, I repeat, you CANNOT control them unless you ARE permitted. Meaning, you can't post that you guys went to another place without the member's consent. Only YOU can control YOUR OWN character in your roleplay. Don't assume that you know what the other character that you're roleplaying with SHOULD do. It's not your decision. It's theirs. Try not to control other characters that doesn't exist, meaning characters that has not registered in this forum (Unless it's really necessary for your roleplaying posts). You can, however, control the non-playable characters (NPCs). You can read more about NPCs in THIS topic...but only if you're registered. B-6. No Multiple Actions. When you post, only do one [or maybe even a few] action(s) and/or attack(s) each turn. You can't go and fill in ten attacks before your enemy or ally can react. You would want to know the reactions of the other people you are posting with. Need to be fair here -- can't be too all Godly about your own actions, even if you are a Canon character. B-7. No God-Moding. We're very strict with this. This means you cannot overpower other people's characters, especially other members' characters that are already registered here. I also do not want any members think that they are all powerful, invincible, perfect, etc. Remember: Everyone isn't perfect. We all have flaws. If you disobey these, we will instantly warn or ban you. This implies to Canon Characters as well. Yes, we all know some of you are powerful (like Pain from Naruto), but try to be fair and not kill off other people or make them suffer any further. To the Made-Up characters: You CANNOT overpower the Canon characters who are generally more powerful than you -- but it all depends on your character's ranking. For example in the anime/manga Naruto: if your made-up character is an ANBU ranked, you are allowed to be stronger than the lower rankings below (with a few exceptions)...but you can't be stronger than the Canon ANBUs and any other people from the higher ranks. Canon characters who have supernatural abilities are MORE powerful than your made-up one. Why? Because they're just made-up characters! For example...your character cannot be faster than Uchiha Sasuke, Rock Lee, Kuchiki Byakuya, or any characters that are those speed demon types. You can't be as godly as Pain from Naruto or Goku from Dragon Ball Z. Are you getting it? If you're unsure, don't worry. Just post whatever specialties it is that you want in your application. We Admins will just tell you what powers you can keep and what not to keep. B-8. No Sudden Character Killings. You can't just go and kill another person's character. If you want to or think the story might require this, talk to the owner (as well as to one of the Admins) of that character in private or through PM to discuss what's going to happen. CANON CHARACTERS THAT ARE ORIGINALLY ALIVE CANNOT BE KILLED. I hope that's self-explanatory. B-9. No Interfering & 'Post Hopping'. This only applies to stories in the roleplaying sections/grounds. If your character doesn't look like he/she belongs there, then don't go there. It gets annoying when someone tries to jump in the topic (even without asking the ones in the story first)...especially when it is a 'tense' or 'private' moments. As for 'post hopping', that means...don't just post and leave already and post at a different place and do the same thing over and over again just to increase your post count. Trying to increase your post counts to keep yourself in this forum won't work. Please try to at least post TWO times before leaving a topic. B-10. Leaving A Roleplaying Topic. When you want to leave a topic, make sure you have at least TWO posts...then you can leave. We don't want you to post just once and leave already. Give the other members who are roleplaying with you a chance to write down their reaction. If you're in a roleplaying topic that has been idle for a long time and you want to leave, you can either EDIT your post (saying that your character left) or PM an Admin to either close that topic. If you only post ONCE on an idle topic, then you can ask an Admin to delete that post of yours so you were "never" there. B-11. Closed Roleplaying Topic. A closed roleplaying topic means two things: 1.) The 'story' is done and all the members who participated in there have left and moved on to a different place/topic. 2.) The topic isn't done, but has been idle/abandoned for a long time. On the second choice, we Admins would just usually close a topic that hasn't been active in awhile without questioning the participants so that we can 'free' the other members who are stuck will be able to post elsewhere. Like I said, post in one roleplaying topic at a time for your character. If you noticed that your topic has been idle and believed that it no one is going to post anymore, you can ask one of the Admins to close it. B-12. No Multiple Threading. One roleplaying topic per character. When it comes to the Roleplaying Grounds, your character has to stay in one topic at a time -- unless an event is opened. In reality, it is impossible to be at two places at the same time...so let's try to follow that concept. Yes, I know some characters are able to make clones and such...but let's be fair to those who can't. If you want to leave a topic, make sure you have at least TWO posts...then you can leave. If an event is opened in the Surprising Events, then you are able to be at 'two places at the same time.' Basically, you are allowed to post at more than one place at the same time in any forums that are under the Alternate Universe [Roleplaying Ground] category. Otherwise it gets others confusing of where you are located in the other Roleplaying Grounds, which you are only allowed to post at one place at a time. So stay in one place until you feel like you want to move somewhere else. B-13. Post Order. Surely there are post orders in this forum (in the roleplaying grounds) depending on what the situation is and how many people are there. Yes, we know it slow things down a bit, but if the person doesn't post for more than three days or so, then you may post your turn (if there are more than 2 people in the thread with one holding the post back). You don't have to wait for them unless you really want to. Otherwise, you don't really have to follow such post orders - depending on what post topic you are though. But, just give other people a chance to write down their characters' reactions. To those who have 3 or more people in a roleplaying topic: If a person's post doesn't necessarily relate to your post, then you don't have to wait for them...go ahead and reply to the other people. B-14. Track Your Topic. PLEASE! It is YOUR responsible to keep an eye on the topic that you are participating in. Try not to hold other members (who you are posting with) down with your idleness and delays...not that you are being rushed or something. Just please don't forget where you posted your characters. To track a topic, click on the topic you wish to track and scroll down at the very bottom of the window. Near the clock image, you'll see the word Track Topic. Just click on that, and you'll be able to keep track of that topic. B-15. Just logging onto your characters allows us Admins to know whether or not you're active in that particular account/character. B-16. No Unrelated Smilies. That means we don't want smilies (ex. : :P) on regular roleplay or text smilies either (ex: >>) to express what your character is feeling. Putting these are only acceptable in roleplaying posts IF they are put in brackets or something that indicates that YOU [as a roleplayer] are talking in OOC, not your character. Do this only in roleplaying topics in the roleplaying grounds. Example: [[Ooc: I, the roleplayer, am talking. XP Just leaving a note on the side.]] B-17. Love Relationships. Yeah, yeah. We all know some people want to be in some kind of relationships. Sure, you may do that. Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep your intimate actions on a DOWN LOW. Some people here are not into those kinds of intimate things. Read more in "Relationships"; though, you can only read it if you're registered by means of making an account in this forum. Shounen-ai or Shoujo-ai are ALLOWABLE. Yes, we're allowing this kind of pairing in this forum ONLY if your characters are Made-up or a Canon pair. As for Canon to Made-up or Canon to Canon (either a deceased one or in a finished series by the way), well, you need to ask us first about it. B-18. No Made-Up Members For Certain Organizations/Clans. For the anime Naruto, there's only 9 rings available [excluding Orochimaru's, which makes the rings 10]. This rule implies to most of the organizations (i.e. Akatsuki, Organization XIII, etc.) and Clans [that are almost extinct] (i.e. Uchiha, Uzumaki, Clan...not including the Hyuuga, Nara, etc.). There's a plot already made for the story of the anime/manga, so we suggest you use that information so that you wouldn't create a made-up character for a certain organization/clan. In additional to that, no made-up characters in specific CANON clan/groups...unless you have a very, very good plot to begin with. So if you created a made-up sibling or relative to a certain character of an anime/manga/show/book/etc, you just have to make an OUT OF THIS WORLD background information of that character that would totally blow our minds and would make us say 'that really fits well in the story'. B-19. No Made-Up Siblings/Relatives To Canon Characters Ah, we are definitely very picky on this one. Canon characters shouldn't have any made-up siblings and/or relatives other than their real ones. Basically, this implies to every anime/manga/show/book/etc. However, we do have an exception. If you're so desperate to be related to a certain canon character, you need to have very, very good background to begin with that can easily fit in the canon character's main plot. For the anime/manga Naruto...we do not want any more Uchiha's and no other siblings of Hyuuga Hinata and Neji ... unless s/he is an original character of Masashi Kishimoto (i.e. Uchiha Obito). The exception that I mentioned does NOT imply to the Uchihas, which means that WE ARE NOT TAKING ANYMORE MADE-UP UCHIHAS...no exceptions! So if you created a made-up sibling or relative to a certain character of an anime/manga/show/book/etc, you just have to make an OUT OF THIS WORLD background information of that character that would totally blow our minds and would make us say 'that really fits well in the story'. Usually characters that are meant to be alone [as in only child], stays alone (i.e Uzumaki Naruto). Don't make it hard for the canon characters to have no parents then a sibling popping out of nowhere. If you're not sure, don't worry. We Admins will be the judge when looking at your made-up character's background info. We'll might give out pointers (and critiques) to help you fit in the main plot. B-20. Post Length. Some people are really flashy and actually like to roleplay with huge chunks of paragraphs. That's okay as long as it's consistent and understandable. So basically, it doesn't matter how long your post is. The minimum is just 2 FULL sentences that actually makes sense...not 2 fragments, 2 COMPLETE sentences. I'm sure that's not a problem. But please, don't be stupid and call this --> (Wow. The End.) two sentences just because there are two periods. That doesn't make it two sentences. The maximum doesn't matter because you can write as long as YOU want. Quality is much better than quantity. Take what one of the members [Sora] said: Spoiler: click to toggle B-21.
