Sample ApplicationFor viewing purposes only. Please don't plagiarize. I've been thinking of providing a sample application so that newcomers as well as those who are already familiar with how ARPF runs with their application system can see how (almost) exactly you should formulate your application when registering a roleplaying character. If you want to add something more to your application, you may do so. You're NOT limited to what we have for you on the template -- so go do whatever you want. People can add "Personality" in a different category than putting it in the Background Information. First of all: EACH CHARACTER SHOULD HAVE THEIR OWN ACCOUNT. I don't want one account with two completely different roleplaying characters from another anime (or maybe the same anime). Confused? Please contact me via Personal Messenger (PM). Okay, now that we have that clear... To make an application for your roleplaying character, PLEASE READ THE Character Registration Template topic. Once you have that understood, copy (use Ctrl+C or right click your mouse and click on Copy) the provided template and then make a NEW TOPIC. Topic Title: YOUR CHARACTER'S NAME. Doesn't matter if it's their full name, first & last name, last & first name, etc...just as long as it's your actual or part of your roleplaying character's name. Topic Description: IT'S OPTIONAL - you don't have to fill that part. Topic Tags: NO NEED TO FILL IT AT ALL. If your account name has a different name than the one in your application, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! We'll change your name if we see the name differently from your account. On my next post below, I have acquired an application from a member (with his/her consent, of course) so that you all would see HOW an application should look like once it's done. Jaken's Sample Application---------- Canon Character Example Name: Jaken **Note: Please put your characters FULL name here. Nickname: N/A **Note: If your character has any nicknames, please put it here. If not, then put 'N/A' or 'None.' Gender: Male **Note: Gender is MALE or FEMALE only. If your character is a CANON character (meaning it's from an original anime/manga character) and is neither a female or male, then put 'Neither' or 'N/A'. If it's both...then put 'Both'. For made-up characters, the Admins highly prefer only one of them. But if those doesn't apply, then either put neither or both. Age: Never mentioned but I'm assuming that he's older than Sesshoumaru. He looks like he's not young and he's heard to mumble about his old age every once in a while. He also seems to be from the same "generation" as Myouga, who's been around since way back when Sesshoumaru's and Inuyasha's father was still alive. **Note: No need for explanations here. Just PLEASE put ONE age here. I don't care about the other ages...what the character's age from the past, etc. I only want the CURRENT age of your character! It gets sickening seeing other ages....PICK THE MOST RECENT ONE! To those who are roleplaying Canon Characters, Keep Up with the anime/manga. If your character is like a kazillion years old BUT looks like a 19-year-old (just an example, but I hope you get the drift)...go ahead and write that. [[Credits to this site: Click HERE]] **Note: See this? The roleplayer of Jaken actually cited his sources, telling us where he got his information. Please do that when you are paraphrasing or copying from outside sources. We don't want you taking credit for something you didn't write. That's called plagiarizing -- that's a big no no in our forum. If you're tired of repeatedly citing your source, go put it on the very top or the very bottom of your application that you got most of your information at whatever website you got it from to save yourself some trouble. Just as long as you mention that you got your infos from other website somewhere in your application, that's fine with us. Anime/Game/Show: Inuyasha **Note: Put either what Anime/Manga/Cartoon/Game/Show/etc. of where your character came from. If it's a Made-Up and you chose not to put it anywhere, just put 'N/A' or 'None'. Made-Up?: No **Note: Just a 'yes' or 'no' answer. Did you made-up this character from the figment of your imagination? If yes, then put that. If no, then it's no. Type: Neutral **Note: Protagonist (good guy), Antagonist (bad guy), or Neutral (which means NEITHER or a little bit of both good and bad [in order to be Neutral, you have to do both good and bad things or you're not an ally between good and bad])...please pick ONE. Don't make it hard for the Admins to pick for you. He/she may not know the origin of your character. Pick the one that is best suited for your character. It's your decision Description: Jaken is a small kappa demon that wears some sort of brownish colored robe, kind of related to what monks wear. On the top of his head, he wears a small hat [Don't know what it's called.] How he looks, well, he's unattractive. With big yellow-like orbs and skinny pupils, it makes him look like some sort of reptile. He has three claw-like fingers and two toes in his feet. **Note: You must fill this out, even if you provided an image. Just write a couple of words or sentences. Doesn't have to be long and/or detailed. Image: Posted Image **Note: Please put a suitable size of your character's image here. Don't put a BIG image or any images that can stretch the post. It gets tiring moving from side-to-side. Background Info: The assistant of Sesshomaru, Jaken is a kappa demon who is very loyal to Sesshomaru, primarily out of gratitude for once saving his life. He occasionally mutters statements such as "Mother was right. I should have been a ferryman". Besides being charged with carrying the Staff of Heads and occasionally put its power to use, Jaken's presence around Sesshomaru has always been rather pitiful. Despite this Sesshomaru resurrected Jaken with the Tenseiga when he was killed by Kaijinbo when possesed by Toukijin. Jaken was once a lord among similar demons. A battle broke out with another demon tribe when they were trying to defend themselves from being devoured. The leader of the larger demon tribe had Jaken by his neck, when Sesshomaru appeared and told the demon to move for he was blocking Sesshomaru's path. The demon did not heed him and as soon as Sesshomaru repeated himself he used his poison whip and cut the demon to pieces. Anime TV version of Jaken seeing all this, Jaken told his tribesmen to move out of the way. They knelt down before Sesshomaru, creating a path before him. Jaken, captivated by Sesshomaru's power, beauty and a need to repay the life-saving debt, he told his minions to "forget about me" and followed after Sesshomaru. With perseverance, Jaken finally cracked open the door a little and Sesshomaru told him that if he could use the Staff of the Heads, then he could become his servant. Jaken was most grateful for being able to offer his service to Sesshomaru as he is the descendant of the inu taiyoukai who was famous throughout the lands. Jaken looks up to Sesshomaru and is always looking for ways to seek his approval. He also seems to be forging a close friendship with Rin. Sesshomaru only sends Jaken to perfom lesser errands but also protects him. As when Naraku first emerged in his full yokai form, Sesshomaru told Jaken to stand behind him as he challenged the youkai. [[Credits to Wikipedia]] ------------------- As a role in the series, Jaken is basically Sesshoumaru's retainer and a very loyal one at that. Though often viewed as annoying by most fans of the series, Jaken actually provides quite a majority of comical moments where Sesshoumaru's scenes are concerned. In the series itself, Jaken seems not to be very well-liked either. Most people either ignore him or forget that he's even there to begin with. In fact, he gets bullied quite a bit by the Inuyasha crew. That in itself is often a source of entertainment in between flashes of Sesshoumaru's battles. Although Jaken isn't generally treated nicely by others, he doesn't seem to care much about what other people think of him. His entire view point is usually zoomed in and focused on Sesshoumaru alone. Gaining Sesshoumaru's approval is very important to him and it's obvious that he desperately seeks the praise of his master though he typically gets none. He takes great pride in being with Sesshoumaru and in being a faithful, important servant to his master. Regardless of how dangerous a situation can be or how afraid he is, Jaken continues to follow Sesshoumaru and his orders throughout the series. Sucking up to Sesshoumaru is definitely one of Jaken's specialties. Around everyone else, however, he's just a grumpy little demon. Following Sesshoumaru around all these years has apparently allowed him to learn more about Sesshoumaru's personality than most. Sometimes he can be heard making a comment to Rin, providing insights on Sesshoumaru's character. He can also read Sesshoumaru's clipped orders and facial expressions much better than others. Sometimes all Sesshoumaru would need to say is "Jaken" and Jaken would seem to know what his master is asking of him. Of course he also realizes that Sesshoumaru's character is quite a mystery as even he doesn't always know what Sesshoumaru's purpose is in doing certain things. Jaken is and continues to be Sesshoumaru's most loyal servant. His greatest woe would be the fact that he doesn't seem to be valued by Sesshoumaru. In fact, he can often be heard whining about it. How he came about to being Sesshoumaru's servant and why he continues to stay with his master even when he's treated badly had always been a mystery until the anime episode 79. In this episode, we first catch a glimpse of his past and learn how he came to meet Sesshoumaru. Please note that the following synopsis only took place in the anime and not the manga. In this episode, we're introduced to a different Jaken. Instead of being a groveling servant of Sesshoumaru's, he actually sat atop a throne with a field of Jaken-look-a-likes minions hailing him as a great ruler of their kind. Then one day, a nearby demon suddenly attacked him and his people. They were having some trouble when the battle was suddenly interrupted by Sesshoumaru, who happened to passing by. The demon was apparently in Sesshoumaru's way and would not move when he commanded her to. Sesshoumaru basically solved the issue by effortlessly killing the demon, which in turn saved Jaken and his clan. Jaken described the moment and his first impression of Sesshoumaru as the most incredible and beautiful person he has ever seen. Yes, it seems Jaken has become a fan-youkai upon meeting Sesshoumaru. From that moment on, Jaken decided to leave his position as the ruler of his clan in order to follow Sesshoumaru as his servant. His people were greatly confused and tried to stop him, but Jaken's mind was apparently made up with the intention of repaying Sesshoumaru for saving his life. Jaken continued to follow Sesshoumaru until they reached a waterfall. Here, Sesshoumaru paused and reached behind the wall of water to retrieve a staff. He gives this staff to Jaken and told him that Jaken may follow him if he's able to use it. Jaken takes the staff gratefully and has since proved that he could use it. However, it was never explained as to what the true significance of the staff was. It's obviously important as Sesshoumaru has once told Jaken that he would kill him if he loses the staff. This was after Jaken had shortly misplaced the staff. After all those years, it seems Jaken has been given another job in his role as Sesshoumaru's servant. Yes, his responsiblities now include looking after Rin and making sure she's safe. Needless to say, caring after a human little girl is not something he prefers to do. Jaken can often be heard grumbling and complaining about Rin though he has no choice but to follow Sesshoumaru's orders, less he gets punished. The moments of interaction between Rin and Jaken are often hilarious. As the series progresses, they've sort of become a team of their own especially when Sesshoumaru goes off by himself to take care of whatever business is at hand. I like to think that Rin's grown on him more than he cares to admit. [[Credits to this site: Click HERE]] **Note: For Canon Characters, this is where your work becomes less of a hassle. You don't really need to write a Background Info IF you can just copy the background info of your character from other sources, such as Wikipedia. Just copy and paste the information here. Doesn't have to be long or short. But please, remember to cite your sources. Specialties: Jaken specializes in the usage of his staff. Though, as much as he is a servant to Sesshoumaru...his task are usually easy. Staff of Two Heads (Nintojo) — Jaken wields a staff which can spit fire from the old man's mouth to incinerate enemies; though he usually needs to slam the bottom of the staff on the ground to trigger this effect. It was also used to locate the grave site of Sesshomaru's father and open a portal to the afterlife. Sesshomaru gave this useful two-headed staff to Jaken when they first met to detect the grave of Sesshomaru's father. The heads are of an old man and a woman. When the woman's mouth screams that means the location being tested is not the grave site. When the old man's head laughs that means the location is the grave site. To open the portal to the afterlife at the grave site, the base of the staff is brought down forcefully on the grave site (which turned out to be a black pearl in InuYasha's right eye). In Buddhist legend, the Nintojo is used by Enma Daiô ("king of hell") to measure the weight of sin in the dead. [[Credits to Wikipedia]] **Note: Another easy one for Canon Characters. If your sources provided the specialties for your character, just copy and paste it right here. Remember to cite your sources. Sample Roleplay: A slight breeze passed by as a green creature was slowly standing up from his unconscious position. "Ugh...where am I?" He questioned himself as his skinny eyes scanned around the area, seeing no one around him. Where's Rin and Sesshoumaru? Panic started to arouse within him. How he hated being left alone in the middle of nowhere. "Lord Sesshoumaru? Rin? Where are you?? I hope you guys didn't leave me behind!" As he regained his position, he started running, but tripped on a small rock that was in his path. "Oof!" his pointy face flattened out on the ground, but he quickly regained his position. "I don't like this at all! Please come back! Wherever you guys are!" Small anime tear drops were noticeable from the corners of his eyes as he then started running again to find his companions. **Note: This part is CRUCIAL for Canon Characters. The Admins want to see whether you are capable of roleplaying this certain Canon Character. Don't make the character sooo absurd and act so different than what they're supposed to act...the right term for that is 'Out Of Character' (OOC). The minimum length is two paragraphs...that's 10 COMPLETE sentences. The maximum...no limitations there as long as your two paragraph requirement is fulfilled. Please write using third person. Try not to control any other characters other than yourself in your Sample Roleplay. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Courtesy to the roleplayer of Jaken for kindly allowing me to use his application as an example for a Canon Character Sample Application. |

Ivelisse Voulevarde's Sample Application---------- Made-Up Character Example **Please note that I have condensed her application because her actual one is really long. Name: Ivelisse Voulevarde **Note: As you can see here, I bolded the first name so that it would be easier for people to distinguish their first name from their last name. Why is it so confusing? It's because some Japanese anime/mangas have last name then first name basis...so, people might actually mix the first name with the last name. You can do this for Canon Characters too. Nickname: Ivy Gender: Female **Note: Remember...Male OR Female only! Put their REAL gender...not how they act. Technically, we highly prefer only one of them. But if those doesn't apply, then either put neither or both. Age: 16 Anime/Game/Show: Ace of Spades {Made-Up Anime} **Note: Haven't heard of this anime/show? Of course you haven't! It's a made-up anime/show courtesy of Edward Delphine's roleplayer. But anyways...no, you don't have to make up your own anime/show if your character is made up (if you do want to make your own show or something...that would be hard because you need a GROUP of people...not just yourself). You can have a made up character from a known show...like Bleach, Naruto, etc. You just have to put what show/game/etc. your character came from. If your character doesn't belong anywhere you can think of and just popped out in your mind, then put "N/A" or 'None'. Made-Up?: Yes **Note: YES! You have to put YES here if your character is made-up. Meaning that YOU made up your character from your OWN imagination. Type: Antagonist **Note: You can be either Protagonist, Antagonist, or Neutral. It's up to you. Only pick ONE. It's not really necessary to color code your type...but you can if you want. Description: Standing at 5"6 feet, this young lady possesses dark amethyst oculars that greatly match with her medium-length wisteria tresses. She appears to be like an ordinary teenager, wearing an obsidian patch on her right eye. This female is a bit old-fashioned when it comes to attires. One would usually see her with frilly, lacy dresses and/or skirts because it is her classy style of clothing...even in both of her forms. So, no shorts or pants for her. Boots are her kind of foot accessories. Ivy prefers to wear dark attires – she is not really fond of any light colors. **Note: Descriptions doesn't have to be long. Just a couple of sentences, that's all. Image: Posted Image **Note: Since your character is made-up, it will be extremely helpful if you provide us an image so we can see what your character looks like. If you can't provide an image....then that's okay. We'll just look at your Description and try to imagine what your character looks like. Background Info: Born at March 21st in Spain, Ivelisse Voulevarde had already murdered an innocent being which is her own mother. The death of her mother was not intentional, but holds significance to her birth because the mother's essence was necessary for Ivy to come alive. Arriving into the world of the living, the infant was not fully (one-hundred percent) human...but is part CHAOS. She was born with a snaky vine with blunt thorns wiggling from atop her head with a diminutive red rose nestling above it. How did she end up like that? Simple........... **Note: Okay, her background info is TOO long, which is why I shortened it. BUT! That doesn't mean you can write a short background info...especially those who have made-up characters in known anime/manga/shows/etc. For a made-up character, the Background Info is the MOST IMPORTANT PART IN YOUR APPLICATION! The Admins will be reading it to see whether or not your background is suitable for the specific anime/manga/etc that you placed your character in. Specialties: Ivelisse is a master manipulator of vines since she is able to control them with the guidance of her hands and/or mind. There are a few variations of her vines: thorny rose vines, poison ivy vines, or a combination of both. Either way, her vines are able to constrict an enemy like a snake grasping firmly on its prey. They are not so easy to break like regular plants. The tighter they compress, the more they will deprive its trapped victim of air. In additional to that, the thorns from the vines will be pressed against any flesh while her poison ivies are highly toxic, scathing the skins of the victims with a lethal rash (a very irritable inflammation in the surface of your skin) if not treated soon [please see the effects of poison ivy]. This is why her alias is 'Poison Ivy'.......... **Note: THIS PART IS ALSO CRUCIAL. Made-Up characters CANNOT be all that...they can't be too powerful...they are limited because they're made-up. The Admins will intensely look at your character's abilities to see if there are any specialties that seems to be 'all powerful' and such. If your made-up character has no abilities...then you don't have to worry about this part at all! You can just write that your character has no special abilities. Sample Roleplay: There was a portentous feeling churning at the pit of her stomach. She had the feeling that she will not see this same sunrise once more – call it a hunch or something. The teen was well aware that the Master is sending some of the CHAOS members to a different world...little by little. First were the Sadistic Duo, Zetto Wicker and Fio Flanne. Trailing after them was her partner Adel, whom she deeply respects and appreciates. She knew that it was only a matter of time before she gets sent away into this foreign land known as ARPF. It was still quite vague to her why it was necessary for the CHAOS to be in that world anyway – yes, she knows of this power as briefly explained by the Master...but he did not intimately explained it. A gust of wind blew once more with a hidden message intertwined with its invisible strings, telling her that it was time for her to depart. The lids of her eyes closed as her body disintegrated into bloody-colored petals before regenerating back into the CHAOS base. A portal was prepared for her to enter, in which, she had already done without ever looking back at the maleficent smirk twinkling from her Master's eyes and lips. Her entire sight was blanketed by visions of darkness, before being blinded by another ray of sunlight...but this time, it was from a different world. Her assignment is the same as any other Chaos Templars who are currently lingering in this ARPF world: to investigate this 'magical power' and prevent any AoS members from hindering their goals and intentions. **Note: ANOTHER MAJOR PART OF YOUR APPLICATION. The Sample Roleplay is ALWAYS important. The Admins want to see what your roleplaying capabilities are. Two paragraphs is the minimum...that's 10 sentences. Please roleplay in third person only.
