Hey all!

I got a message from Conni tonight. Something came up and she had to leave for GA a little earlier than expected to get her children so if you could, please pray for her travels and that the Lord will keep his hand upon her children too!

Thanks!

I had a great trip! Met Lorne, Malinda, Scott & Jennifer and all the kids, and it was such a wonderful time. Lorne & Malinda are such great hosts. Thanks again for having us!

We got on the road, and about 45 - 50 minutes into the drive the light on the dash came on, indicating a flat tire. Well I immediately pull off on an exit, and checked all the tires, and nothing. Checked again after getting drinks and such, and still nothing. Drove another 200 miles then checked again, and even though the light was still !!FLAT!! the pressure on all the tires was perfect. Don't you love these new fangled cars with the sensors in the tires? LOL

Lorne - I'll get some "real" jelly to you soon! :P

In the mix of things....
It may well be related to your ABS system wheel sensors.

On many cars the same strategy for a wheel sensor is used to decide if any particular tire is under inflated (comparing wheel rotations)

If a pebble or anything metalic gets in between the wheel sensor pickup and the moving magnet, it will not register (magnetic pickup) correctly.

If you are also getting an ABS light...its definitely the culprit...if not, its something to consider. Depending on the age and model, some newer cars can detect specific inflation pressure but I have never see how (and where) those sensors operate.

If you would like...let me know model and yr I can do some investigating....

So glad that you could make it to "the compound"....LorNE's sense of humor is tough enough in person, let alone with nothing but typed words on a computer screen. You will be much better prepared (and your children!) to survive with him for 3 nights in the belly of Salt Lick Ky.!

The tire pressure sensor on mine ('09 Focus) is supposed to be on the inside of the tire, on a narrow band around the rim. I suppose it sends an electronic signal when the tire pressure is low. It can be damaged when having a tire changed.

Well, I had my brakes done last weekend, and the light is still on. I know the tires are fine, so I'm not too worried about it.

MH,
would you mind sharing the year and model of the vehicle having this rouge tire-pressure indication?

I enjoy researching this kind of stuff and in the age of online discussion boards with spiders and 'bots crawling all over, just about every indicator light and all probable related causes have been talked about!
