The world of Sol's Edge.

Earth is the seat of system government. All laws pertaining to space are written and enforced by our homeworld. The planet is protected by point-defense stations armed with missile defenses. These defenses are nigh impregnable and serve to defend Earth from hostility. All approaching forces must disarm before entering Earthspace.

Mars is a divided world. A small greenzone exists in the Northern hemisphere, but the rest of the world is cordoned off due to a plague that has ravaged its populace for close to six years, now. No communication from the inside of the cordon has been heard in three years. The epidemic has been exacerbated due to a number of factions trying to use the malady as a catalyst to forge their own independent nations.

While the Western world went to Mars, Russia set its eyes on Venus as it did in the Soviet days. Cloud cities house hundreds of thousands in comfort while the millions of poor swelter away in the sub cities on the planetary surface. Russia claims that Venus is its' sovereign territory, but the UN does not recognize this. In the end, Russian Space Forces are no where near potent or plentiful enough to enforce this claim.

If there was ever another wild west, this is it. The asteroid belt plays host to many companies and ventures looking to strike it rich. Beware of pirates, though.

While equally lawless as the asteroid belt, the Jovian colonies are a mixture of scientific stations, corporate supply stations for mining, and even a few separatists.

China set her sights mostly on the asteroid belt, but the nation does hold a significantly presence on Mercury. It's claimed to be a series of research postings, but there are whispers its more or less a prison for the most troublesome of political dissidents.

Beyond the usual reach of the UNCA's Regiments, the Saturn System is the apex of civilized space.

The Moon is the closest there is to neutral ground in space. It possesses numerous communication outposts and other scientific facilities. On top of that, it has a sizable population of Muslim pilgrims.
