  Sonia had left her country straight after the State of the Queendom address, she'd spent much of the trip over to the Teutonic Union checking out what people had been saying on social media, it seemed mainly positive which to her was a big relief. She'd waited until after her daughter Mary had gone to bed, having promised to bring her back a doll for her growing collection, Sonia couldn't imagine any other six year old having so many, they'd literally taken over a whole wall of her bedroom. Once the child had dropped off to sleep her Venus Groom, CrownPrince Richard had accompanied her to the airport where the families private jet had been waiting. "I'll miss you" Richard said holding her tight as her bags were taken on board. Sonia kissed his cheek gently before slipping away, "Silly, it's only for a few days, beside it's going to be boring business I suspect, and trying to understand a 16 nations 1 government type deal." She'd been reading up on the Union and it seemed rather complex, interesting none the lest. She began preparing herself for the arrival, she'd slipped her shoes off more or less as soon as she'd boarded the flight and now fidgeted looking for the left one that seemed to have wandered off on its own. "Looking for this sis?" her elder brother Prince Marcus held up the black heeled shoe. "Must have a mind of its own" he said casually throwing it back to her. "Nervous" he asked her as he folded his newspaper into his briefcase. "No.....yes.....a little" she admitted, "It's a diplomatic minefield, I mean do we negotiate with each Principality, or with the Union, what happens if we think one lot are jerks but the rest are ok, or even worse the other way round." Sonia began speaking fast, a habit she had when nervous, at least in private. "Calm down" Marcus said reassuringly, "They'll find some of our customs just as weird so no doubt their Emperor will be sat somewhere going through exactly the same thing. Think of this as more of a chance to make friends, if monarch's get along then so will their nations." Marcus offered his advice just as the wheels of the aircraft touched down. The aircraft came to an easy stop and two black jacketed soldiers took up positions at the bottom of the aircraft steps. Sonia stood up and draped a red shawl around her shoulders and descended the aircraft stairs, the two soldiers saluted her and she nodded her acknowledgement. "Mummy" a girls voice called out and attracting her attention, a young girl wearing a black coat over a pretty pale green dress launched herself towards Sonia who caught her. "Mummy, we saw you on TV last night, you looked very pretty, Daddy let us stay up and watch it." Princess Katarina took hold of her Mother's hand. "Hello Katarina" Sonia said holding her daughter's hand tightly. "Now, listen carefully" the Queen said firmly, " We have to be on good behaviour now, at least while the camera's are here" Sonia nodded towards the watching TV crew, "So take my hand now" Sonia walked over to her Heart Groom William and hugged him before turning to the 15 year old Prince Marcus Jnr, "You been behaving?" she asked knowing full well he had, she knew he was a good boy, he always made her proud in everything he did, be it sports, school or events like today. "Yes Mum" he said rolling his eyes in his smart pin stripe suit. "Now, happy faces people, time to meet an Emperor" she said waiting for Katarina to take hold of her father's hand, with the Princess sandwiched between them Queen Sonia and King William headed off to where the welcoming committee waited, Prince Marcus Jnr strolled along behind them with his uncle after who he was named. |

"Katarina would you like that?" The Queen asked her daughter. "Please Mummy" the little girl said politely. "Be careful and do exactly what they tell you ok?" Sonia added, her daughter nodded. "Mind if I tag along" King William asked sitting forward in his chair, "Its not everyday I get to have a go on a steam train" he added grinning at his wife, "Pleeeaase" he pleaded with a childish expression. "Very well" his wife said cracking into laughter, "Just be a good boy" she mocked as he followed the children towards the front of the train. "I sometimes wonder about him" Sonia said lovingly to the Emperor. "If you don't mind I'd like to float an idea, I was kind of inspired by our diplomatic discussion, I think the old fashioned concept of the Royal Court is a lovely idea, I look forward to creating a rich and vibrant scene where we all learn from each other and become more than just nations who talk but friends. With that in mind I've already instructed my diplomats to extend things to the DEN, sadly they have refused, and to United Moreland, I've yet to be informed of their answer but I am hopeful, Queen Alison seems to share many ideals that I believe we have, therefore I intend to make a large royal court and would like to see it as a basis of a kind of Monarch's Union, I think the name may need some work, but essentially we have several monarchies that have shown themselves committed to peace, international co-operation and prosperity, therefore what would you say to us spending today exploring the potential of a multi-national treaty of sorts, and then if you agree inviting United Moreland to a conference on the matter?" |

"To date we've had very little formal contact with the Morelanders, however we have been pleased with the way they've stepped in trying to solve this whole Japao mess, their certainly a nation we feel we can work with. I would be delighted for you to make an introduction so to speak, however a multi-national treaty. I'd have to know what I was letting myself in for. Perhaps you have an outline in mind?" Hans asked as the train arrived at their destination. "Perhaps we can discuss this more once we get to the University, their expecting us." The Emperor found Katarina and Joachim on the platform with the staff and King William. "I trust His Majesty behaved himself?" Hans asked the driver with a smile as they made their way out the train station and across the road to where a large red brick building sat, the University of Durdoft, one of the nations leading Universities, staff and students lined the staircase greeting the Emperor and the Morheimians as they made their way up to the deans office. "The Dean has loaned his office for a while, perhaps we can discuss this idea of yours?" |

Sonia took a seat and removed her laptop, she slipped on a pair of black rimmed glasses. "Sorry but I forgot my contacts, can't read a thing without them" she smiled as she loaded up a document. "I wrote this last night when I began formalising the idea, now don't feel under pressure, if you're interested I'd like to get you, me and Queen Alison of United Moreland around one table, we'll become the founders and then launch it internationally. I believe we may not get many full members but I thinks several nations may be interested in joining some of the associated organisations." She turned the screen to Hans. "Let me know your thoughts." proposed charter

"Well that's rather a wide ranging treaty." Hans said having glanced down it quickly before going back and reading the charter himself. "I like it, I'd be happy to move this forward, however it is based on a three nation deal, what if United Moreland don't join." He thought for a while longer, "Perhaps a verbal agreement between ourselves that should the Morelanders not agree we shall still bring in Article 2 & 3, even if it is just between ourselves, I think it will create a useful future for both our nations, giving security and economic co-operation. What do you think?" |

"In that case I think we have a kind of treaty secured then" Sonia said pleased with how things had gone. She tapped away on the tablet and then handed it to Emperor Hans, "I think this should cover everything, as such should the League of Monarchs form this treaty shall be superseded. Do you think that this should work?" Treaty Between TU & Morheim "I believe this should cover everything?" Sonia mentally crossed her fingers. |
