It had been ten years since Leopold had last served in an official capacity for the Queendom, in his younger days he had often enjoyed the hectic nature of visiting other nations, engaging in diplomatic talks and events, being the 2nd husband of Queen Anna it would normally have been expected that he play a minor role in the nation, however with his co-husband Edwin being a committed Naval officer it had often fallen to him to take on the roles. He felt the old excitement begin again as the aircraft touched down in Hochburg, he glanced across the small private jet, his granddaughter Paige was drumming nervously on the marble inlay of the table while looking out of the window. "You nervous" he asked her snapping her gaze back to the interior of the fuselage.

"A little" she said not sounding convincing, she paused for a moment, "Actually a lot" she added with a nervous smile.

"I'll let you into a secret" the bearded Prince replied leaning closer; "So am I" he leaned back into his chair, "The moment you don't feel nervous is the moment you've become too comfortable with this whole thing, but don't worry, it shows you care about your homeland, that's why your nervous, that's what you thinking of, don't let the folks back home down, right?" Paige nodded that was exactly what she was thinking.

"I'm sure we'll do fine, I mean your a bright girl, brighter than me when I was your age. Look at this way, when I was 19 I was assured of one day marrying royalty, I didn't have a care in the world, I knew that one day I'd have wealth, influence, all that good stuff, it was only when your grandmother made me realise I wasn't going to be given an easy life I upped my game, I had to work hard to make sure I did her proud, I think I did."

"You did" Paige said sweetly, Leopold may not be her biological grandfather but Paige looked on him much the same way as her biological grandfather Prince Edwin.

"Thanks" he smiled before continuing as the aircraft began to slow on the runway; " You dear are naturally bright, I mean one day you're going to be some highly flying Marine Biologist, or follow your other grandfather in the Navy, probably command the whole damn thing one day. You've the brains for this certainly, just let me worry about everything else." The aircraft had stopped and the Prince stood, "You set"

"I'm set" Paige said standing up and slipping on her short black jacket over a white blouse and plain black trousers, a splash of colour was added by the red and yellow scarf at her neck.

"Good" he linked his arm through hers, "Lets go meet the neighbours" he said as they stepped through the cabin doors and down onto the tarmac of the hosts.

Hochburg.

Or, rather, Hochburg Fortress City as it was known, was one of two cities of the same name, an old tactic that was seen before in the old Capitol of Valkyrie. Centered in the middle of the country, and near a set of mountainous terrain, the city was home to a massive forest and lake nearby. Unlike other modern cities, the outer, more rural areas did not extend for miles beyond the actual city itself, but instead turned into military checkpoints as it extended.

The airfield upon which the diplomats landed was a military installation, and was cleared for the landing a day before they had flown. As such, it was located outside of the Capitol Walls, and necessitated a drive to the Capitol. Fortunately, they had prepared for that.

Führer Vladimir Lenin, and commander of the Guard Field Marshal Junkers, stood on the airstrip with a detachment of the 1st SS Guard Division's 10th HQ battalion at their side, dressed in their formal military dress, medals, ribbons, ranks and all. It would be an interesting introduction to Namenian Culture, but if they were to visit, then perhaps they would know about their military values.

"Comrade Führer." Junkers turned to Vladimir, standing outside an armored limo, staring into the airfield as he lit a cigarette.

"Yes, Comrade Marshal?" Vladimir closed the lighter and pocketed it, blowing out the smoke.

"They are nearly here, sir. Should I assemble the detachment?" He asked, and stood next to Vladimir.

"Yes. Curious, though.." Vladimir trailed off, turning to Junkers. "I've never heard of a polygamist nation, much less a mostly female monarchy."

"Yes, tovarishch. It is a new idea. Perhaps, though," Junkers replied. "It isn't as bad as you think."

The two men stood at the limo for a little bit, looking through the skies, before Vladimir straightened up, and tossed the cigarette to the side. He straightened his military uniform up, and began walking forward. "Get the Honor Guard here. The jet is coming in."

"Yes, Comrade Vladimir." Junkers turned around and picked up his cap, and waved over to the captain standing nearby. The captain was heard shouting 'fall in', and the two commander in Chiefs walked up to the airfield, and waited.

Behind the two men, a platoon of twenty soldiers and two sergeants lined up in a file, and waited for the orders. The jet landed, the stairs moved up to the plane, and Vladimir turned around to nod, and headed to the stairs, putting on his military cap.

The two squads of Honor Guard lined up on either side of the stairs, standing at rest with the butt of their V-A90 Bitva rifles on the ground, and their left hands behind their backs. Vladimir stood at the end of the two lines, with the two sergeants with their NBR-38 rifles, and the captain with his sword at their side.

"Comrade Captain, bring detachment to attention." Vladimir ordered as the door began to open.

"Sir, yes, sir. DETATCHMENT!" The captain boomed, pulling out his sword and holding it on his left. "ATTENTION!"

The platoon snapped to attention, holding their rifles now against their polished boots, which clapped together. As the door opened and the royal family was visible, the captain boomed another order. "Present ARMS!"

As one, with the clack of the service rifles, the soldiers brought the guns up to their right, and extended them forward at an angle. The captain saluted with his right hand, and the sergeants remained at their stance, waiting for the family.

With Paige being a naval reservist she almost instinctively gave a salute back the hosts soldiers as her and her grandfather stood at the top of the steps. Noticing Paige complete her salute her grandfather nudged her to head down the steps and towards the two waiting men. "The one on the left is Führer Vladimir Lenin, the right is Field Marshal Junkers" Leopold whispered to her as they approached.

"Fuhrer, Field Marshall" Paige said to each in turn, "It's certainly a wonderful welcome, I must say the men of this honour guard are especially well turned out" she said politely. Her grand-father extended a hand to each.

"My half daughter, the Queen, would like to send her apologise, she's currently in the Teutonic Union on state business, I'm sure otherwise she'd have been delighted to accept your invitation." He produced a small wooden box from his pocket. "Queen Sonia has asked me to present your nation with this" he flipped the top of the box open to reveal a small carved Jade dagger, "I hope this can act as a token of friendship between neighbours." he handed the box over. "I hope we can learn a great deal about your nation while we're here."

"Perhaps you could tell us a little about your role sir" she said addressing Führer Vladimir Lenin.

"Most certainly, Comrade." Vladimir replied, taking a bow and returning to his original straight stance. Junkers took the box gently and held it, before pocketing it to hold onto it for Vlad. "I am the Emperor's Second in Command. Officially the commander in chief of the military, special forces, and a few other hush hush programs you'll never hear. I'm commander in chief of central, and, surprisingly, I am head of the politburo, which I think you'd find interesting."

"Comrades, it is wonderful to finally see you. Please, welcome to our homeland." Field Marshal Junkers replied, and took a bow. They, to him, looked a little naive, but fortunately, he knew that they were mostly reservists. That at least would help them if they found themselves having to explain their military. "I am the Commander in Chief of the Imperial Guard units, and the Commander In Chief of the Capitol Guard. Please, follow us."

OOC- Paige isn't the Queen, she's the Queen's niece, she's 19, a first year university student studying Marine Biology and is a volunteer in the Naval Reserve, something she's been in since she was 17.

"It seems your a busy man" Paige said as they begun to follow the pair, "A socialist monarchy? Now that's something you don't see everyday" she said as they passed the rows of military men who had given the salute.

OOC: Fixed! :P

"Ahh. Not a monarchy entirely, Comrade. You would be surprised." Vladimir replied, walking towards the armored limo with his hands behind his back. Behind them, the sergeants ordered their men to change position, and dismissed the soldiers. "Emperor Maximus is no king, make no mistake. But the rest of us here are glad to serve. Please, enter."

Paige entered the vehicle followed by her grandfather. "So if your not entirely a monarchy what would you be then?" Paige asked interested in he use of monarch's titles in a nation she was now being told was not a monarchy. It was strange she thought, there was probably as much bizarre stuff back home that strangers would be confused by yet to her it all seemed second nature.

"Ahh. We have... How would you say it... A 'royal family'? I believe? Yes. We have something similar. Every Emperor's children is considered 'royalty' in that they are famous and respected." Vladimir explained, entering in after them. The car sped off towards the massive fortress that was the Capitol buildings. While their royalty helps them excell in rank or job, it is not conclusive. After all, Lieutenant Johnathon... Or was it Johnson..? Anyway, he is a special forces officer.

"Maximus's father was, surprisingly, a private in the army. Every leader is decided upon by the acting Politburo, and the people. The people choose the candidates, and the Politburo picks the Emperor. In rare cases, the Führer takes command. We've had only one... 'Dynasty'? Yes. Only one. It was a father and grandson. But in title only are we a monarchy. I believe a better title would be Ceaser, or while harsh, Dictator."

The city seemed very different to back home, there the cities were smaller, only the capital Queenstown had more than 1,000,000 inhabitants, many of the cities contained a central district built within old walls and as such had become almost tourist attractions, the rest of the sprawling mass of the cities lay beyond the walls, in effect it was almost like a timeline of the nations history from those first settlers fleeing persecution to the establishment of today's modern based nation that despite all the trappings of the 21st Century still clung to its pride of having forged a new nation out of desperation.

"Perhaps you can tell us a little about this city?" Leopold asked as Paige sat watching the world go by.

"What would you like to know, tovarishch? The history, or some behind the scenes information?" He asked with an almost laugh as the limo moved down the highway, coming to the city. Hochburg was massive, with millions of people living there, and the sounds of only a few cars was kind to the ears. Most transport was public, provided by the government. And because of that, the roads had little traffic issues. And because of that... "Driver, mind the armor."

"Yes, Comrade Führer." The driver replied, and stopped the car at a red light, and looked left and right. Off to the right, a wheeled IFV rolled forward, at least five men sitting on top of it, and the commander leaning against the hatch. He gave a nod, a quick smile, and a laid back salute as the IFV rolled off, heading for the port.
