Castle Embla

The Valkyrian Lutheran Guard stood in a strict attention, slightly, in courteous fashion stepping aside to make way for His Highness, Philip Augustus, the prestigious Grand Imperator of the widely rich Augustus family. He stepped almost sluggishly it seemed like, with a flamboyant nonchalant strut. He carried on like this in the West wing courtyard, kicking his heals on the ground with his head lifted high in the air in privileged thought. "Y-your highness?" a quiet voice from his entourage spoke up. Philip peaked behind him, seeing a low hand raising from the following posse. "Eh...yeah?" he questioned, annoyed that even his council was so obsessively following him.

Stepping out from the rest of the towering council, was John Eris, Philip's Chancellor. He stuttered for a moment, as usual before getting a squeak out. Philip sighed, ushering his hand in annoyance for Mr.Eris to speak up. "Y-your Highness, we have a meeting today."

Philip's eyebrow raised, his lip raised too as if he had smelled shit. "Oh? Well, when?"

"Errr." Eris sighed nervously. "In thirty minutes."

"Thirty minutes?!" Philip shouted. "Are you shitting me? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"Uh..um, well you have been busy in the past hours, you know..with Lord Peters."

Philip grinned wildly, "Oh okay, yeah. Still, I wouldn't mind someone walking to remind me, it was only sex."

Eris dipped his in embarrassment, "Uh...my Lord I did indeed try to interrupt you bu-"

"But?"

"You did ask me to join..."

"Did we?" Philip chuckled.

"Um...no, oh god no. I mean, I could've bu-but I mean I don't think you are-uh."

Philip smiled, "You were embarrassed, it is fine. Oh well, thrity minutes is long enough. Everyone else can leave, I only need Mr.Eris for this meeting." Philip walked on quickly with his gay-like strut, expecting Eris to keep up closely. "Now, who are we meeting again?"

"Vinitsia my lord, I assume trade will be on the docket, since that is their preferred talking point. Though internationally, their influence is spread, they have-"

"Great economic influence, yes I know. I assume a trade relationship with them would be great improvement correct?"

"Yes, they have rather advanced trade. Being in close proximity, securing a strong relation with them is pivotal to gain position in the world economic and political stage."

The Grand Imperator sighed, "Very well, let's get through this. I will be waiting in the Central Tea Room, bring them when they arrive will you?"

"Yes, my Lord." Eris affirmed with a nod, heading to greet the arriving Vinistian delegation.

*Vice Doge for Trade, Elena Djine, arrived in Nouvelle Valkyrie at the Palais Baudelaire with her Economist Advisor, by the gardens of the Palais. We guide them to the Central Tea Room*

Vice Doge for Trade Elena Djine to its advisor

- What a beautiful place, it always remember me the summer residence of the Doge.

Economical Advisor

- Well, let's hope we don't interrupt its Highness during some.. You know.. But you're certainly not its type, so he might be focus for once on the affairs.

*Entering to the Central Tea Room, and finally meeting its Highness*

Vice Doge for Trade Elena Djine

- Greetings to your Highness, let me introduce myself, Elena Djine, Vice Doge for Trade and here in the name of The Merchant Republic. As we are neighbors, and that our diplomatic ties are very few, we wish to reinforce these and at the same time, our economical ties.

As we are both cultural near countries, we are wishing to also support the development of cultural exchanges, as we serve the same values your Highness.

Long live the Republic,
May God be with you,
- Doge's Office

Philip shook their hands and gestured for Elena and her economic adviser to sit down, as he sat he listened to them kick off the meeting. As they talked, Fernand motioned the local servant's for tea, offering his guest the same. "Yes, trade and political connections is something Valkyrie has always had a lust for, as my country has plenty of untapped potential to host grand economic growth." Philip sipped on his tea, ordering a servant over and whispering into her ear. She went and closed the curtain's a bit more, as the room was too bright for the Grand Imperator's sensitive eyes. "Ever since the Civil War, we have been in a state of recovery only until recently. Now, my Chancellor here, Eris recommend's Vinistia for it's proximity and economic virtue."

John Eris spoke up, setting his cup down on the small table, "We think a special relationship of economic bonding can be perused, Valkyria is very advanced in it's communications sectors, but most of all the country is consumed by many untapped resources. The mountains hold an abundance of rare and raw resources. Which we believe could be exploited for exponential growth."

"As well as our many ports."Philip spoke. "Free trade policy, as well as perusing Vinitsian ferry for all Valkyria goods across the world could turn profitable for both our nations." Philip paused for a moment, scoffing as the tea. "Jesus fucking Christ." he blatantly murmured, pulling another servant to the side. She brought back a bottle of fine Vinitsian "My family is also in the wine making business, we quite believe Vinitsian wine is the best in the world." Philip grinned, offering the Vinitsian delegation a drink instead of tea. "No wonder the tea is awful, it's from Moreland." the Grand Imperator joked, graciously lifting the wine glass to his lips. "Anyway, what do you think of our economic proposal? Free trade and Vinitsian Merchant Fleet aiding in the transportation of Valkyrie trade goods, while interest are equally shared?"

OOC: you know you love me

also, considering you seem to be getting offended at my lack of accurate portrayal a culture you're a part of, I can easily swap it out with another and edit the post :) Sorry for any pain I have caused due to American bias

- Well your Highness, that is precisely what we are looking for. You see, wine and food, we are made for being friends, a long term partnership. For example, here is the Trade Treaty with signed with the Constitued Republic of Avhali, but as we are looking for something more deep in order to develop our relations, what do you think of an amendment to include potential military cooperation ? In order to secure the ships and the citizens in the region your Highness.

Long live the Republic,
May God be with you,
- Doge's Office

OOC : I'm not offend because you don't know french culture, that's perfectly normal, even making the King gay etc. Why not, but I don't accept saying French Gastronomy is a “bunch of sh*t and snaking” like you said on IRC..

"We don't want to be connected militarily." Philip addressed, "Your associations with such a nation like DEN is already concerning for us and also has on edge about simply talking trade with you.However." Philip motioned for his Chancellor to speak.

"However." Eris began. "We can give military assistance for trade that only pertains to our treaty and will not co-operate in any form with other nation's Vinitsia is involved with. Meaning we will only protect merchant fleets that pertain to our trade with eachoother and Valkyria's agreed trade partners. Though also, if you were to cut all connections with DEN and other's like it, then we would be in full agreement."

- Concerning these, you need to understand our position, the greatest army on earth is actually threatening one of our ally, all help to counter that is welcome. We had some aprorities, as they are socialists for sure, something we have been fighting for more then one century, but now that we are trade partners, we simply consider their Government as a big corporation having the monopole over the entire DEN, and it is much easier for business.

But I respect your choice. Even if for the moment we haven't with DEN, made any military exercices, just common military deployment in the same zones, we consider them as friends.

We were thinking of something like that, for the Trade Treaty, as you may see, Article VIII says “Each nation shall protect via its military authority, the trade that directly concerns each other.”, like that no real military attachment, we just ensure the security of trade of both Nations. What do you Highness think about that Treaty ?

"I find this treaty agreeable." Philip said, pouring another glass of wine, though he had built up such a resistance that a buzz was hardly around the corner. "We will conform that Valkyrian assets will be guarded by Vlakyrian assets, as well as any other trade we're involved with."

"Actually my lord." John Eris, coughed, "Vinitsia has no essential ties to DEN."

"Really? I was led to believe otherwise."

"The media can be tricky and our intelligence is unable to get a full grasp on the situation going on with Los Vatican."

"Ah." Philip replied. "Then I redact my previous statement, as you can imagine Valkyria has closed itself off from foreign affairs until now."

- A qui pro quo is always possible in our time, your Highness.

So as we are neighbors, would you consider cooperation exercises in order to securise the region ?
The Merchant Republic, putting a lot of trust in the future of our relations would also be delighted to propose you debt with a low interest, in order to expand your Nation and the glory of the Imperium your Highness.

Also, as you seems to like wine your Highness, be sure in order to celebrate our friendship, I'll personally send you a box of Château Pétrus.

Long live the Republic,
May God be with you,
